The critically acclaimed title is seeing a console release, but not on Wii U.

Although the Wii U version was announced early, Gone Home's console releases will not be heading to Nintendo systems.

Fullbright Games and Midnight City reconfirmed the console releases today would be for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Development head Steve Gaynor confirmed to us that this is those are the only systems in active development:

Gone Home originally released on the PC in 2013 and a Wii U release was teased at a Unity conference.

Were people so excited about this game coming to consoles that it would be profitable anyway?  I mean... Gone Home is kind of old news, and not really much of a "game" in the traditional sense anyway. With a small install base and a successor already in the works, would the number sold on Wii U justify the effort?

This isn't like Minecraft - a game that is a good fit for the hardware and the average owner, with a huge business behind the game that could afford to take the risk.  Gone Home doesn't tip the scale that way.
