After months of speculation and a mysterious countdown timer, we have an official announcement of the third Zero Escape game.
Announced at the 2015 LA Anime Expo, the title will be the follow-up to 2012's Virtue's Last Reward and should resolve the many cliffhangers the game presented.
Aksys has actually commissioned the game based on the Western sales of the first two titles. No platforms were announced in the initial reveal, but sources and Aksys's PR statement indicate the game will come to at least the 3DS and the PlayStation Vita, as Virtue's Last Reward did..
Three 3DS eShop titles (platformer Slice It, rhythm game Radio Hammer and Family Fishing 3D) and the new Wii U rhythm platform game Chronicles of Teddy: Harmony of Exidus were also announced at the panel.
UPDATE: A quote from the PR (sourced from Gematsu) may point to the game being digital first or exclusive: An antidote for the game is predicted to be created, but much further down this timeline, and as such there is no defense from its effects. It will be most easily identifiable on Nintendo 3DS™ and PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system, though it is transmittable through the air so the spread may increase even more rapidly through the PlayStation®Store and Nintendo eShop.
