A video was posted to the Nintendo Japan Youtube account which serves as the first showing of Devil's Third since E3 2014.

The video shows lead designed Tomonobu Itagaki speaking against a stark black background intercut with game footage. The end of the video confirms the game's release on August 4, and although the game will be available digitally the retail release will be an Amazon exclusive in Japan.

UPDATE JUNE 10: Nintendo UK has announced the game will release on 28 August.

The Japanese retail disc being exclusive to an online retailer is not a vote of confidence from Nintendo.


Still, this is a game that should have faded away upon the THQ explosion. Even if it turns out bad, it's nice to see a beleaguered game finally release.

Doesn't appear to be a retail exclusive in the UK, the same will likely be true for the US. I smell a small print run, though.
