November, what's it gonna be?
« on: July 01, 2003, 07:13:00 PM »
November is definitely going to be GameCube's big month(in US and Canada anyways) with Mario Kart: Double Dash, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, and Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes being released.  So, I just wanted to know which one(s) are you going to get?  Me???  Well, I'm an RPG addict so I'm with FF: CC.  Hopefully I'll get MGS: TTS and/or MK: DD for Christmas.

Come November, I will have had a high paying job for 3 months.    I will likely buy all 3.  But if I had to pick one, it would quite definately be MGS: TTS.  That game is going to rock my world.

You're luckly to have gotten a job, I unfortunately, don't have one.  I'll try though, but I don't think anyone would want to employ a 16 year old, I'll have birthday money though.

Well, I currently have a job as a cashier at a 24 hour convenience store.  I will keep that job for the next 2 months before my real job starts.  I have to pay the bills and get my bread somehow.

Spartan: The broadband adaptor's been out for quite a while, but as I hear it's quite rare to find. As for price, I think it's around $30, but I could be wrong.

Speaking of too many good games, we're only talking about November. There's a string of great games starting with F-Zero GX and SC2 in August all the way to Christmas. Kinda makes you wish games weren't so expensive.

The broadband adaptor is about $60 CAD here in Canada, and is available in just about every store that sells Nintendo stuff.

Yeah, Big_Pimp. I can sympathize. No money and all 5 of the games ($250+tax) I plan on buying this year have been mentioned in this thread. No job as of yet. However my birthday is in November so I really can't complain.

Well, as for me, im all over MKD and if that gamespy tunneling thing happens I will be one happy camper. I've always been a Final Fantasy fan but I dont have the time to play rpg's anymore. The broadband adaptor is usually in stock at my local Gamestop, Just call around you should be able to find one, Until MKD releases anyway.

Nah, they stuck him on Xbox because they ran out of good characters.    Spawn is still a multiplatform game.

I wish that the GCN version could have had Spawn, too.  Spawn was the coolest comic book character ever, in my personal opinion.

Paladin: Agreed!

I'll take FFCC and MK: DD. As FZero will probably not contain weapons I'll pass that. Also, I dislike sneaking and therefore won't get MGS. Prince of Persia sounds really nice, but I'll wait until reviews get available.

I'm all over FF:CC.  When me and my buds came over to play PSO we had a blast, even though the offline mode was kinda boring.  Plus, all we'd need to get is one more GC/GBA cable and we could have 4-player.  Plus, I'm a huge fan of RPG's.  The only thing is, I hate all FF games that I've played.  I own two for the Playstation, but the console is on my boat right now.  The reason I don't like them is becasue of the fighting.  Either completely turn-based, or completely real-time, not a strange mixture of both where yuo can't go to the bathroom when fighting, becasue the monsters will attack WHEN IT'S YOUR TURN!!!

FF:CC is completely in real-time, right?

It looks that way. Reminds me of Diablo II, just run up and smash the enemies.

I'm definately getting Mario Kart. FF:CC is a maybe for me, I need more info, but I will probabkly wind up getting it. I just want to learn more about the connectivity reqs first.

The only thing about MKD is that I already have it for the N64.  I know it has all these new features, like the second person and LAN play, but I would rather buy something totally new, and FF:CC has so many new things in it, mainly the connectivity, which I defidently won't get on the Playstation.

I was really excited when I heard about a Final fantasy game on the cube, but it is really only a FF game in name. I does look good though, hopefully it will be a really fun game. I already have 5 GBA (3 GBA and 2 SP) in the house with me and my brothers, so all we would need would be some extra cables.

FZero is also looking very nice. That one will be automatically purchased by me for sure.

MKDD will add alot compared to the N64 version (which I have and love), so I have to get this one. One thing I dont like is that you have to buy multiple copies of the game to play on multiply cubes. I have two cubes (I have my own and my brothers share the other one), but I dont think I would buy two copies of the game just so we all could play at once. I guess the cubes get overpowered trying to run both from one disk. Too bad, but if there is a lan tunnel to play on line, that would be pretty sweat.
