I'm not sure what you're talking about with your last point, but they don't boot into Wii mode it says. Though unless they run in 1080p and have widescreen added (and honestly there is no reason for them not to), then there's no reason to buy them if you already own them.

The reason is to have them always on the system without having to switch discs. That's easily worth $10 to me, at least for certain games.

According to those who have bought one of the games, it DOES boot into wii mode when you click the game button. Hell, when you turn off the game it actually reboots the entire console and it isn't possible to bring up the home menu like you can with Wii U titles, eshop games, and virtual console games.

Oh I didn't realize that SMG2 was out already. That's stupid. There is no reason to have to reboot the console like that, the game could easily be updated to boot from the Wii U, or a system update could easily add support for "Wii Classics" to boot in Wii U mode and run at 1080p.

This only reinforces the point that Nintendo has no forward thought process.
Their engineers are stuck in the now of yesterday, instead of the now for tomorrow.

They need a new product development and future integration specialist. someone with some vision of how things made today will work for the ever changing needs of tomorrow, and not build yourself in a corner where you need new hardware everytime you want to add something new features.

Homebrew developers have already added Wii U Pro Controller support (and Dual Shock 3, Dual Shock 4, GameCube - yes, the Wii U can play GameCube games) for Wii games in Wii mode. Nintendo could just as easily do the same (and basically that's all that they have done in this situation), and not make people re-buy games. Of course there's no money in that.

There's no reason to buy these games if you don't have them already. Nintendo did manage to stick it to Gamestop with the pricing of specific games and I love them for that.

There Priced 10/20 Dollars for a digital version of these games.  There also easy  to find this way.  That's what your paying for.

That's fine. What I shouldn't have to pay for is the GamePad integration of Wii titles, which is exactly what they are doing. What makes this worse is that the three they have announced for the US so far don't even use the  GamePad.

Not only that, their selection so far is basically their Virtual Console model. "Let's release one game per week for a few weeks then never talk about it again!" If they release more than 10 games this way by the end of the year I will eat my hat. The only one worth it in the US is Metroid Prime Trilogy, while the other two are still relatively easy to find on your own. We should have gotten Pandora's Tower and/or Sin and Punishment 2 like EU did.

You can play them on the GamePad now, right from the discs. It doesn't work as a Classic Controller, but none of this first wave supports that anyway.

I know this. By "integration" I mean as a controller. I don't see using it as a screen really counts as that, but I suppose that's just semantics.

Have they even shown a game that would work with that? The first set all don't, and of the others Sin & Punishment 2 supports it but should never under any circumstances be played that way.

EDIT: They could conceivably patch it into DKCR, in which case it'd absolutely be worth the money.

No, but that isn't the point *EDIT:Pandora's Tower supports it, I believe*. They made that a selling point for these titles and then don't even offer games that support it. My hope is that it becomes system-wide for Wii Mode since its obvious they have it working but knowing Nintendo, that won't happen.

why in the hell did they gimp the fucking machine to force backwards compatibility if people were going to be OKAY with rebuying games they already can play just to have a digital icon? This is why Nintendo can't get their fans excited for their ****, they do everything wrong and then instead of boycotting their **** people buy it anyways. This make no sense because they could be releasing GameCube games or N64 games or something people can't already play but whatever. This makes less sense than putting GBA games on Wii U VC.
