I personally love the band. Their music is great, but don't any of you say that "Bring Me To Life" is what all their songs sound like. It's totally not true. You gotta listen to the whole CD to appreciate the band's music, which they wrote/co-wrote. And just in case any of you try and wonder, yes, im sort of a goth (but not really.)

Evanescence is a milestone in my book, since they're the fist rock band for which I have bought an album for, and the first 'real' CD I've bought (I always buy movie scores).
I first heard them in the Daredevil Trailer, downloaded the song, and loved it. I downloaded the rest of their songs, loved them, then loved them so much I bought the album.
You notice how before the album came out, if you downloaded the songs, they sound different from the real ones on the album? For example, 'Haunted' doesn't have that scary ghosty intro, and 'Tourniquet' and 'Imaginary' don't join up with that orchestrated thing.
The final versions of the song on the album are excellent. I think the ones before them are rough cuts, so if you heard their songs from that, they're still good, but you don't have the real thing.

Ive only heard one of their songs, Bring me to life, and i think its awesome. So yeah i like them.

No, they aren't a gothic metal band. But I despise most gothic metal bands, so too well.

I might have to download another song or two of theirs to see if they're any good.

I just never could quite get used to the sound of a banshee. Other than that, they are ok I guess, as long as you have earplugs.

Ive listened to the cd from top to bottem, and I only liked the guy from 12stones, the rest is ok. I guess. Its just not what I like to spend my time listening to.

Well Bring Me to Life sold me, and I went out and bought the album.

For pete's sake, they are NOT goths. Even if they were, they still make good music.
I don't actually have a song on that album that i skip over regularly.

And for some reason, the MP3s on the net don't give you the background noise during songs and in the interludes between songs. There are a few songs backed by a choir actually. Gives the album a eerie feeling, and works well. And Amy Lee's singing is something different. Not everyone's cup of tea, but it hooked me.

The songs on the album are the final cuts. The ones I got on the net before I bought the album just sounded like any other rock band. It was just rock. The only ones I had that match up to the final cuts are GOing Under, Bring Me to Life and My Immortal. Everything else just sounds weird now.

It's a rockin' album. I heard Kyle (from the Hot 30 Countdown) say that they were Goths, but you look at their pics in the album, and well, not really. Amy looks hot in the Bring me to LIfe video clip. That flowing nightgown just sold me. They're just (now) famous rockers who also happen to love Nintendo too (the Fusion Tour)!
You know, even though some of their songs are maily concerned with death (Tourniquet is about suicide), I'm not bothered by it. The intro to Haunted is creepy, but sets the mood well. I love it.

I can't really say anything bad about it, cause there really is nothing bad about it.

yeah.
i actualy tried to download Tourniquet, and you know the bit where she screams out "I want to die"? Well, b4 the album came out, that bit wasn't in the song yet, and I downloaded it again, it was in there, but it was like all weird. It was all muffled and sh*tty.
Oh well.

Actually, you were able to get the album versions on the net a couple weeks before the album was released. In fact, I told you all about it back then.

Hmmmm......
I had downloaded Imaginary (before I bought the album), and when I went to their official site to get the lyrics, the whole last verse ("Swallowed up in the sound of my screaming......") was swapped and was now the beginning of the song (which was what I had), so in other words, I really didn't have the 'complete' album until I actually bought it.
Haunted didn't have that weird intro, it just went straight into the rock guitar. And Tourniquet and Imaginary weren't joined up with that connecting orchestration.

I've been a fan of theirs for about a year now. Haunted and Tourniquet are my favorite songs on the album.

I'm glad to hear from people who actually take this band seriously. All too often I hear people complaining that they are sellouts and that one song (Bring Me To Life) is what they all sound like.

I guess I'm not the only fan here then

My favorite song on the album is Whisper, which has a really cool ending to it.

The band isn't all that gothic, and to tell you the truth, I don't mind at all. I like Evanescence because they express their emotions and want to do music because they want to, not because they want to become famous and rich.

Something like that. I was in another forum online, and someone was talking about them. So I checked out their website, which wasn't much at the time. So then I checked out some of their fan sites, and I heard a couple of their demos. I instantly liked what I heard, and I've been listening to their music ever since.

Evanescence, Staind, Trapt, Third Eye Blind and many other bands are gonna be there

I'll tell you guys how it goes, especially to see if Amy Lee (from Evanescence) seems as hot as I think she is.
