I don't even have the game yet. I wanted to wait for a sale, but I was willing to buy it when I buy my new TV which isn't available at Best Buy at the moment (in the size I want). Boo/hiss

Holy smokes I've been playing this like crazy today! Everyone is so aggressive! It's so scary being in anything but first. People claw at each other while 1st player sails to freedom.

I don't know what it's like single player but I think this is the multiplayer Mario Kart I've been waiting for! The good items are soooo hard to come by. There is much more racing skill involved than dumb luck with like 1000 blue shells flying around.

Being able to hold on to only one item gives you  decent chance to catch up as well. I think the addition of the coin is really good actually. You can't keep a constant shell shield up.

Same, I think the only way this'll work is if coordinated dates/times are scheduled.

I was in "our" tourney room as well but its empty, although I thought that flag meant somebody was playing in there ATM. Not sure, but Mario Club had some pretty good races last night. (Till about 2am EST)

I'm back from the grave.  Best believe you'll find me lurking in the NWR kart room lol.  Just got the game today so I need a little bit of time to stuck up on the upgrades.  Loving the tracks but F me that they didn't bring back the pinball stage from Mario Kart 7 I believe.  I loved that stage :/.

Waluigi Pinball debuted in the DS game, and it returned as a retro track in 7. :)

Thanks for the info but yeah, that track would've been amazing with the new gravity aspect of this game.  I can imagine if they tilted some of the pinball areas upwards so your racing up the wall while the pinballs came crashing down or bounced around.  Would've been epic.

On a side note, but playing the Rainbow tracks in this game just makes me wish Nintendo would come out with a new F-zero already.  Looking at some of the things they have done with gravity in this game, I can only imagine how a new F-zero would be.  smh.  Come on E3, make my wishes come true.

Thanks, I tend to lurk for most of the year until e3 rolls around then I get caught up in all the frenzy, enough so to pop back on and start posting again lol.  Time is so limited now a days, been working on a serious backlog lol.

Anyways, I'm currently working my way through the 100cc class.  Once I polish off the 150s and get some more gear unlocked, I'll be online looking for some races.  I see Blacknmild just recently got the game also so I'm not the only late adapter lol.

Going need a patch soon, boost hopping is going kill the online play if it isn't fix (unlimited boost just by hopping).  Played my first game online and three Japanese players had the boost going while the rest of scratched our heads at what was happening.

That sucks.  Didn't one of the old Mario Karts have that same problem?   I remember seeing videos of people hopping and sliding their way through the whole race.  Was it the Wii Mario Kart?

You're probably thinking of snaking in Mario Kart DS. At least with this they have the ability to patch it, like they did with the Wuhu Island track in MK7, and I believe something else in Mario Kart Wii.
I'm kind of a snarky bastard.

Unlimited? No that can't be right. Boosts just last slightly longer in air. Maybe your Japanese opponents just had super heavy racers and vehicles and dusted everyone like the game intends. Boost hopping is beneficial but I have yet to see it break the game like snaking in MK DS.
