Not really paying attention to it, but Metallica's playing One, pretty awesome. They also censored a couple seconds too early so you hear Hetfield sing "cut this **** off from me!" during prime time on CBS.

If there was a category "Best Independent Album" or similar i'd pay attention.
A lot of the artists i've really liked are on smaller/indie labels (VV Brown, Tony Momrelle) and simply won't see attention by the grammys. So i skipped it.
