Nintendo Land gets the boot in favor of a New Super Mario Bros. U bundle.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/35790

A new Wii U Deluxe Set bundle packaged with New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U is releasing on November 1.

This bundle, replacing the current Nintendo Land Deluxe Set , includes both Wii U New Super Mario Bros. games on one disc. Like the current Nintendo Land bundle, it will also include the Deluxe Digital Promotion which gives owners a $5 eShop code for every 500 points earned, or $50 spent on the Wii U eShop.

I'm a staff writer here at good ol' Nintendo World Report, but I also have a Nintendo website at www.nintendogamerthoughts.com

2 great games included for free? Nintendo is finally getting their **** together. Microsoft's Xbox 360 holiday bundles offer more value, in my opinion.

I don't think it's such a good idea to exclude Nintendo Land. Unfortunate or not, Nintendo Land is still the best use of the GamePad to date, so it's the best current game to show the merits of the controller. NSMBU doesn't use it in any meaningful way, so it runs the risk of people wondering what is the point of it.

My nephew went bonkers with the Gamepad assist mode that I had completely dismissed. If they're aiming these at families it could still demonstrate value.

I hate that they aren't including Nintendo Land, however, Magic Cow has a legit point. I have a 2 year old son and a 4 year old daughter and they've loved using the gamepad on both mario U and luigi U plus my daughter likes being Nabbit on Luigi U. But that only works if you have young kids I can tell you right now my wife doesn't want to do either of those, but when we play nintendo land it works great In animal crossing she likes being a kid and I like being the guards, in Zelda she prefers to be the archer and I like having a sword, in Metroid I like running the ship and she likes being samus on the ground. I wish the game would have included Mario U and Nintendo Land for $299 and they could buy Luigi U for $20.

By the sound of things, Nintendo Land should be pre-installed on every unit.

Too bad they didn't bundle Super Mario 3D World with the system. Do it with a commemorative SNES style classic controller to tug on people's nostalgic memories of the SNES and Super Mario World. Color the system like an SNES system while they are at it.

I'm interested to see what the packaging of the dual game disc will look like. Will it have a green case or a red case? I want to know if it is worth hunting down a dual-disc copy later-on if I don't get this bundle and if there is any special integrated features. An overarching achievement system like in the Prime Trilogy would be nice but even a gateway menu like in Super Mario All-Stars would be worth going for this version in my book.

Why can I not edit my posts here? Is that feature disabled?

Can someone explain the eShop coupon more? Is it a one-time discount on a purchase of $50 or more? Is it on a certain number of purchases or a time-limit? Or is this a permanent perk for the owner of the system?

When you ask about the eShop coupon I assume you're talking about the deluxe digital promotion yes?

For every $50 you spend in the eShop you can go log onto the deluxe digital promotion website and get a code that gives you $5 credit in the eShop. If you spend $50 across 3 weeks by buying several virtual console games then you can still get the code as it doesn't have to be in the same transaction. And if you buy Super Mario 3D World for $59 then you'll immediately be able to get 1 code and you'll have $9 towards the next code.

But how long does the discount last? Can I keep doing this indefinitely or will the ability to cash in for coupons eventually go away?

Why haven't you checked Nintendo's website instead of asking here? It's all explained there:

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/features_ddp.jsp

Also, post editing was disabled for TalkBack due to recent violations. No idea if the feature will ever be reinstated, so you'd better use the preview button to be sure what you're entering is complete and correct.

I asked here because sometimes users have more knowledge and information than official outlets may give out. Plus it can help foster discussion within the community.

$300 for a "mid-range" console with 2 free games is a better value than spending $400-$500 for a "high-end" console, in my opinion. It's also the reason why I chose the 3DS over the PS Vita. And why I'll choose a Nexus 7 or Kindle Fire over an iPad Mini.

I can't afford expensive gadgets, especially anything priced over $300. It's also the reason why I chose the 3DS over the PS Vita. And why I'll choose a Nexus 7 or Kindle Fire over an iPad Mini.
