Topic: pop up windows?

is it just me or are there more pop up windows on the forum now then back in the old ezboard days?

at least then if you were a gold member you would not get any pop ups.

isn;t it poosible to just ad the ads into the page somewhere and get rid of all the damn pop ups?
they seem to be getting more and more.

the staff must know how horribly annoyingthey are to the readers.

reminds me of a porn site with the amount of pop ups i've been getting lately, lol.


anyone else getting all these?

incorperate ad space into the layout of the site and try and do away with most if not all of the pop ups please....

Hm, might try another browser (Mozilla, Opera, ...). Most good browsers can disable popups.

I get pop ups too and it's annoying.
Did you ever notice how most Nintendo sites have Microsoft advertising?

-_______- are you going to pay for the server upkeep? no? didn't think so so just put up with the adds. and there ARN"T that many ffs, im on the forums for like 12+ hours a day, and you get one every now and then, and OH NOES it is easily closed AND they dont spawn other pop ups like pr0n site ones.

and the PGC crew is well tired of hearing complaints about the adds as they cant do squat about them as they need them to survive for EVERYONES benifit

they also dont have any controll over the content of the adds.

Popups are a game.  You just don't know how to play that is all.  One you do you'll enjoy them.

Pop-ups? I haven't gotten a single on while on this board. I get maybe, two on the main page. Boo friggin' hoo.
If you're seriously getting ALOT of pop-ups on the board, that more than likely means you've got good ol' spy-ware, 'Gator' on your Hard Drive. It throws pop-ups at your every move.

i get the odd pop up or two.
it's those annoying flash ones, like the Windows messaenger ones on the main page. I can't click on the buttons cause the ad covers them.
bloody annoying.
i'm on quite a bit too, but i don't get too many. just the one or two when i go to the main site and.

It truly shows the mentality when all I do is ask   if others are also getting pop ups on the forum and people freak out that i would have the nerve to ask such a thing. The blind leading the blind comes to mind.

And again I never mentioned  anything wrong with having ads, hell I make part of my living off ads. It's just bad internet karma to  use pop ups is all. Or at least in abundance.

get a add/spyware killer like adaware or something, its mucho helpfull to the max!

and it may haven't been directly complaining but well.. yeh, ill just leave it at that. no point getting into an arguement

Another good spyware detection program is Spybot search & destroy. Go to PCWORLD.COM, click on the downloads tab and do a search for it. You can also get Adaware there.

I don't get any pop-ups in the forums anymore.  I thought one of the main purposes of upgrading the forums was to get rid of the pop-ups?  If you are getting them, check for spyware like mentioned earlier.  The only pop-ups I get are on the main page and that's only occasionally and no, I'm not using any pop-up killer programs either.

that is exactly what i thought as well.  to get rid of pop ups without purchasing EZboard gold.

oddly enough, i am now only getting a pop up on the main page of the site.

i was getting them on every new forum page as well untill today.

i'm all for ads paying for the site, i'm just not a big pop up fan.  more so i was just curious as to the extent others were getting them as well.
