Has anyone experienced latency issues with the Wii U?
« on: August 26, 2013, 02:44:50 PM »
I've never really noticed it before but i'm playing Super Luigi and my wall kicks seem to be a little out of time. This is very unusual for me. Can't think what else it could be unless they've tweaked the controls?

Is the wall kick out of sync on the gamepad and the TV?

I'm playing on the pad only. I've managed to get through what i was doing but i don't usually mess up wall kicks and it was happening quite frequently.

Are you used to playing the NES version on a CRT TV?

To borrow from somewhere else on the internet,

Quote
A real NES/SNES hooked to a CRT is 0 frames of lag
A Wii U emulating that game on a CRT is 1 frame of lag
A Wii U emulating that game AND sending it to the gamepad is 2 frames of lag
Most HDTVs are 3-4 frames of lag

If this is the case you are very sensitive to lag.

I don't think it's a TV issue at all because i've played on different consoles on different types of TV's. It's probably just me getting old but it may be that Nintendo has narrowed the "sweet spot" for executing a wall-kick.
