Lets hear it for the series that can actually be called a series!! Yay Golden Sun!
I mean, I never understood it, how can the final fantasy series be considered a 'series' if the only thing connecting it is the name and similar gameplay? I'm a fan of the story, so games whose story makes no conected sense bother me. I brefer one of two options for game series stories if the sequel does not directly pick up where the last game picked up: Picks up story few years later of is connected through legacy in a wind waker sort of way. If all it has is some small references to the previous game *cough*crono cross*cough* then it should have a different name with a 'made by the maker's of...' phrase on the front. Even if it is 'in theory' (aka in the developers minds) connected in some insane or subtle way, it should still have a different name. Or a frigin sub-title maybe. saying Game I,II,II,IV, etc., and not in some way directly connecting them together drives me nuts to no end...
Maybe it's just that I pay deep attention to story and feel there is a very important difference. Anyone else feel the same? Could Golden Sun succeed as the "final fantasy' of the GBA? Or would you rather have it end after another game or two? Or maybe make it a never ending series that is directly connected in story (but not always leaving it in a cliffhanger state) kinda like a movie series like bond or potter?
