Only in Europe though.

Tank! Tank! Tank! is available for free now on the European eShop after being made free in Japan last year.

Joining Zen Pinball 2, it is the second free-to-play game released on the Wii U eShop. Players can download the basic pack, which includes three modes (Monster Battle, Free For All, and Team Versus), and can be played up to three times a day.

Other content, including ten DLC packs and the discounted My Kong Mode, are also available for purchase.

I'm a staff writer here at good ol' Nintendo World Report, but I also have a Nintendo website at www.nintendogamerthoughts.com

If this shows up in North America as a free-to-play I would probably pick it up

I recall this being announced or even released in Japan a bit back. Of note is that the campaign costs 10€, not 27€ as the currency conversions of the Japanese announcement suggested. While the game will let you go several screens into the campaign setup menu it won't let you actually start the campaign without buying that 10€ "DLC".
