The developer also hopes for an Australia and New Zealand release in late January.

The update to Trine 2: Directors Cut on Wii U is stuck in the submission process.

According to the blog of the Finnish game developer, Frozenbyte, the hope is the update for North America and Europe to see a release by the end of January. Also expected by the end of January is a release of the game in Australia and New Zealand.

When asked about a retail release of the game on YouTube, Frozenbyte responded, "It's a possibility... we'd need a partner for it though, so even if we decide to go for it, it will in any case take a lot of time to arrange, so it's hard to say when it could happen... we'll see!"

Trine 2: Directors Cut is available on the North American and European eShop.

I deleted the game to make space (white FTW!) for Zombi U demo, which i am not playing anyways.

Adding pro controller support interests since wiimote-nunchuck controls felt very awkward. Having a dual analog control without holding a gigantic gamepad might sway me to play the game further than tutorial.

Yeah, adding Pro Controller support will probably make me more likely to actually play my Wii U version as well, as I really don't care for the GamePad and I can't imagine playing that game with the Wiimote & Nunchuk.

You don't have to use the touchscreen to play this game with the gamepad, so why the Pro Controller wishes?

I find the GamePad's always-on display distracting. The way I play games lying down, the GamePad is always at my eye-line w/ my TV so that second screen is always visible when I'm playing on the TV.  Plus, the GamePad is just too big for my tastes, largely because of that screen. I prefer the smaller grip & easier-to-access buttons of the Pro Controller, so if I'm playing off my TV I prefer to use that controller.

I never get why anyone holds the controller up to their face when playing. It seems more natural to have it down by your waist, the only way I would see the screen is if I specifically looked down at it.

As I said, I play games lying down on my bed angled at the TV in my room. This necessitates the Gamepad resting on my lap at an angle where the Gamepad's display is always at least in my peripheral vision if not in my full vision altogether. And having two displays of moving objects at the same time is just too distracting for my tastes if I'm not playing a game where that's the idea like ZombiU.
