Four of 2013's big Wii U releases have been delayed.

Pikmin 3 along with The Wonderful 101, Game & Wario, and Wii Fit U were all originally scheduled to be a part of Nintendo’s Wii U launch window, but now have been delayed with the release date being “first half of the year.”

According to Nintendo, more launch information will become available at a later date.

This is almost as bad, if not worse than 3DS.  I just hope it picks up like 3DS did.  At least monster hunter will give me 200+ hours of gameplay.

I'm surprised they didn't just extend the 'launch window' time frame to accommodate the delay, lol.
 
This 'launch window' stuff is already pretty ridiculous. What's another few months going to hurt?

I wonder if Nintendo kind of knew this all along and just said otherwise to make the Wii U lineup look better for early adopters.  "Launch window" is already pretty dishonest (didn't MS make up that term) so why not go all the way?

I think Launch Window has been around for a while in other industries.  Like you can buy a 2013 car in 2012.

Nope. For whatever reason, that's only on the Wii and not the Wii U, 3DS or DSi shops. I really don't understand that, since there doesn't appear to be any downside to offering it, and a lot of people seemed to like it. We did a secret santa here on the forums every year using it, but didn't do one this year largely due to the lack of support.

Nope. For whatever reason, that's only on the Wii and not the Wii U, 3DS or DSi shops. I really don't understand that, since there doesn't appear to be any downside to offering it, and a lot of people seemed to like it. We did a secret santa here on the forums every year using it, but didn't do one this year largely due to the lack of support.

I blame myself (and the Wii U). Actually, I would've really liked to do one with Wii U but everything I read about it didn't confirm virtual console or gifting support. Gifting someone Nano Assault would've been very awesome/gernerous, but the VC pricing was much more reasonable.

I was more thinking 3DS for that, where there are lots of lower priced games.

Either way I wouldn't of been able to do it since I don't own a 3DS - Why host something I would know nothing about, ya know? Maybe by next holiday season Nintendo will get everything under one roof and we can bring it back NWR Secret Santa.
