Topic: Will The Wii U Pro Controller Work With Dualshock 3 Chargers?

I noticed while looking at a picture of the Wii U Pro Controller that it uses the same mini-USB port as the Dualshock 3 to charger its battery. I was wondering if anyone could confirm for me whether or not the pro controller can work with the charging bases and accessories that go to the DualShock 3? I am just curious as to see whether this will work or not. Thank you for your help.

If its just a physical connection and the chargers are plugged in the USB port of the console there is no reason why they shouldn't. If they use a regular power supply and plug into the wall socket then I couldn't say for sure.

What I meant was if someone had a Dualshock 3 controller charger of any kind to see if the Wii U Pro controller would fit into it and then report back to this topic.

I believe it will, I have both types of controllers and the mini usb plugs are identical! so Yes they should work.

The DualShock3 and Pro Controller use a USB mini-A connection and I don't even use the cable that came with the PS3, the damn thing is too short. I bought myself a longer Type A to Mini-A cable.






It works just fine whichever way you use the cables.

Mini B is what my MP3 Player uses, Mini A is what my cell phone uses. Maybe it's the other way around.

The only issue with this project is the difference of voltage between the Dualshock 3 and the Pro controller. There is a chance that the Pro controller could become fired or bricked if it is used with PS chargers. Although it might charge it with no issues. I just want to know if it will fit, and if anyone could confirm it for me?
