There is a "Defense" missing somewhere in the title.

Didn't some NP-inspired fan magazine released a month or so ago already?

Yeah - this will be the second, the first being the Kickstarter-funded Pure Nintendo.

This one actually has me super-excited though. :D

I wish them luck, but that's a terrible name. Then again most video game magazine names have been pretty bad.

I'm very excited about this. Hmm... should I go digital or subscribe to print? Neal, would you happen to know if it's going to be put on Google's Play store?

I'm seriously looking forward to this - some great names of long-time Nintendo supporters on board.

Sadly, there's already some folks poo-pooing this because the line-up isn't to /their/ standards.  I wonder when we'll see their attempt at a Nintendo magazine?

I'm surprised someone from IGN is spearheading this. I thought most of the guys at IGN hated Nintendo (judging by all the flamebait articles on there).

I just noticed "Rawmeat Cowboy" (Kevin Cassidy) from GoNintendo is on there! SWEET! I wonder how he'll divide his time between being the sole editor on GoNintendo and this new magazine...

Editor is a job when people do some work and research and actually edit stuff when they reprint.

RMC doesn't do any of that. He just copy-pastes and then takes all the credit for getting "scoops".

There is a reason you can't even mention name of his site on neogaf.

Yeah. RMC's name being on that list is the only thing to make me raise a brow - I thought it was very peculiar that he was chosen in that mighty impressive slew of talent. Who knows...maybe he has a hidden talent we're not aware of that  he can contribute to the magazine. I'm excited to see how this plays out. As I've already mentioned to Neal on the Twitters, I'll subscribe immediately once I'm given the chance.

EDIT: Maybe RMC will handle the monthly Pokémon segment with Mom Brain. :P

In my opinion RMC is even worse than IGN.

IGN at least does something besides click-whoring. From time to time.

RMC and many other unofficial sites with "*nintendo*" in their names are the hit-baiting 24/7, non-stop.

Regurgitating years' old interviews as new to keep the flow coming, publishing unfounded rumours without even giving it a thought of fact-checking them, not giving a credit from where the original news came from and many, many other things like that, just make shake my head and enter these sites in my url filter list so that i wouldn't visit them even by mistake.

I share my no ill will towards my fellow Nintendo Force guys, though I can say the guys from GoNintendo and IGN that are a part of NF (Kevin/RMC and Lucas) are stand-up dudes.

I just hope you guys don't go to other sites and post this same stuff about NWR. :X

RMC doesn't do any of that. He just copy-pastes and then takes all the credit for getting "scoops".

To be fair, RMC never claims the stuff he reports as his own and always attributes his stuff to the original source.  I've never known him to take credit for something without sourcing it - which is all that matters to me.

This is very true. His site ALWAYS has direct links listed in the corner of each news story. I don't really have a problem with RMC, I guess I just don't recognise what he brings to the table - I suppose he's got organizational skills out the wahzoo.

Ah, I could see RMC handling the Community section of the mag, though. He IS very socially driven when it comes to gaming - at least, when concerning the community on his site.

Anyway, yup. I'm excited! (And no, Neal, I wouldn't dare speak ill-will towards you or NWR on opposing websites.) :P

I'm just waiting to hear how to subscribe.

As for RMC, I love his writing. His reviews are often lengthy but I enjoy the read. I'm glad to see him on the staff. I think he goes above and beyond to credit the sites/people that create the article he posts. The only thing I don't like about his site is the podcast. His friends/girlfriend he does the shows with annoy me to no end so I quit listening to them.

But yeah, Nintendo Force, I'm very much looking forward to this.

Looking forward to it.

Don't have a problem with RMC but I understand why people don't like the site and it being banned from GAF. My only beef with the site is that the comments can be at the extreme end of Nintendo fanboism at times.

http://seanmalstrom.wordpress.com/2010/11/16/email-neogaf-is-censoring-you/

Quote
The  business model for Neogaf is not ‘community’ but to be an advertising vendor. The idea is to attract as many eyeballs as possible to see the advertisements that appear on each page. Normally, this is fine, good, and the standard of how most sites operate on the Internet. However, Neogaf does not generate its own content. It leverages users to do it for them and often steals news and content from other websites (i.e. instead of the eyeballs going to that website, they would just read the content on Neogaf). I’ve seen message posters there spend a huge amount of time and energy making great ‘original posts’ or spend a big amount of time of making posts and updates on a thread. My question to these ‘heavy’ Neogaf posters is: Why are you spending all that time making someone else money?

I know some folks around here aren't Malstrom's biggest fans, but it's an interesting article.
