Top 10 Implementations of Trains in a Nintendo Game
« on: November 16, 2012, 05:52:17 PM »
I'll try not to spam you guys with everything I write, but this one is a bit off-beat and bizarre and will probably be interesting to some, especially old school Nintendo fans.

I object to your #8 there. It made the game significantly worse, that does not count as a top implementation. If you need something else to fill the gap try Buster Busts Loose for the SNES.

I object that Blast Corp isn't number 1.  What other game effectively has a train as a villian?  I don't think it was a terrible idea in Spirit Tracks.

I love the obscurity/niche quality to the topic of the article. Reminds me of Matty Casamassina's old IGN artilce on best flashlight controls in games, back in the day.

Only objections:

- Bury My Shell At Wounded Knee (Turtles In Time) was a cool train level and probably should have been an honourable mention
- MOTHERFUCKER SUPLEXED A TRAIN isn't #1 on the list

obligatory this thread sucks and is now about train... damnit.

Hey thanks!  I definitely try to shoot for the niche sometimes, write that thing that no one else is writing.  I feel like writing about video games should be more "fun" than it often is... well, and reading about video games, of course.
