What has your NWR Staff been playing on their 3DSes?

The 3DS has been out for more than a year and a half, so it seemed like a good time to catch up with our personal playtimes. Everyone seems to be playing Mario games, with Mario Kart 7 appearing on a record 10 of the 23 lists. New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario 3D Land appeared on nine and eight lists respectively. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (9), Kid Icarus: Uprising (, and StreetPass Mii Plaza ( were the other most recurring titles. The most played third-party title? Theatrhythm, with appearances on six lists.

With the eShop update I do every week, I'm usually at least checking stuff for 30 - 60 minutes. That, and there is some cool video content on the eShop in Japan like Game Center CX.

I actually think it can be interesting. I often find it surprising and interesting how people play games differently. What for instance made J.P. put 20 hours into Mutant Mudds, when I did everything there was to do in that game in under 9 hours? How the hell did I manage to put over 33 hours into Sacred Stones? Why has Nate only put a few hours into the awesome Pushmo? How could someone put 96 hours into 3D Land?! lol. That's kind of interesting to me.

Keep in mind Nate didn't get a 3DS until earlier this year.

In the future, would you guys want to see something like a paragraph from each staffer explaining their lists? Or is it fine in the statistical "So, Josh put more time into three games than I did into the system this year" way?

Wow, ok. I mean I love that game too but I wouldn't want to play through it for a second time just for the sake of it. That's what I mean though, it's interesting that you liked that game so much that you decided to played through it twice. It surprises me sometimes how differently people, with essentially the same hobby, approach gaming. When ever I come across stats like these it always acts as a reminder that the way I game is not necessarilly the same way that others do. Sometimes it also allows me to reflect on my own habbits. I mean, did I really need to put 29 hours into a game I wasn't particularly enjoying? Probably not, but I felt compelled to play it because Pokemon is an important series and I thought it was worth digging into.

UB might have gotten me and J.P. confused, but I did do a Grannie Run through Mudds. It was nice because it was like a God Mode romp through a game I loved.
