Topic: Anyone else an outcast in their family..?

Hey all, I'm pretty new to the forums, as you can see. I was just wondering... is anyone else an outcast in their family because they got a GameCube? I know I am... lol. I used to be a complete XBOX fanboy, and my parents loved my XBOX; but, then I went down to my nearest Software Etc. and traded in my XBOX and all my accessories and games, etc. for a GameCube, etc etc. Now my parents, and most of my friends, think I'm a complete idiot for doing this. Anyone else having this happen to them? heh.. Honestly, having owned all 3 of the big consoles, right now, at one time or another, I can definitely say that so far I like the GCN the most. This coming from a guy who was a total XBOX fanboy. lol

nah thats not happened to me cause 1) i was smart enough to get a GCN and 2) my parents are also smart

joking aside good thing you got a gamecube shame you got rid of your xbox though, but i spose it was for teh greater good, also the gamecube is small enough and durable enough to make a good projectile weapon to shut your family/friends up

i can understand why they think it was dumb.  They prolly see it as you are losing money during the trade off.  Personally me i owned only Nintendo products untill about 5 months ago, because i wanted to get a ps2 for sports, action games, and etc.  I ended up not liking it pretty fast, then i started watching movies on it and it ruined my SIMPSONS DVD!!!!!!!!!!  So good thing I bought a 2 year warranty on the sucker!  Now im getting a check back and they said i could purchase whatever i want with it!  I've now decided to get a xbox due to the price drop and cause my friend always has a xbox lan thing going on and also im getting 6 free games!!!!!!!!

Im getting Halo, Shenume 2, mech assault, sega gt, jet set radio future, and fuzion frenzy.  I'm getting them free because microsoft gives out easy online training courses (5 question quizes) that they reward you with games and stuff, but only if u work for a retail store that sales xbox's though.  The website is www.microsoft.com/retail for those who are wondering.

Umm.  Your family and friends prolly still wanted to play those games.  You better get some fun party games for them!  Get Super Smash Bros Melee, Mario Party, TimeSpliters 2, Super Monkey Ball, etc.

Heck your friends are prolly pissed because you are the only one they know that has an xbox, lol (heck all i know personally is 2 ppl)  Dude just get some killer games and they will come around.  Heck just get Zelda WW, and that will shut their crap holes.

i'm not an outcast with my family, but defidently my peers.  i said peers because most of my friends don't play video games (i pity them) and some others got GC.  But for the ones that don't, we start talking about video games, and i say i got gamecube, and they start talking about it being for kiddies, and they worst graphics and games.  graphics!?!  i don't take what they say seriously because i know alot more than them about video games and it's there loss for owning an xbox (and microsofts loss, but they don't care).  all that matters is that you like the system.

Nah, my family could care less, and friends the same.  One of my friends owns a GC, then he bought a PS2 later (still has both).  The other has an Xbox, but still like the other systems.

lol Alrighty... Just thought I'd see if anyone else is havin' to deal with the same ish as me. I guess not. So, just get some good party games? Man... I'm so broke, though! lol Only thing I've got so far is RE: Zero. It's a sweeeeet game, though. I put together a list of all the GCN games that I currently want, and most of the games (that I've hard about at least) that're coming out within the next year or so, and there's like 134 games I want, LOL. This system definitely rocks. I like the controller a lot more than the PS2 and XBOX controllers, too. I only wish Nintendo would start pushin' online gaming, though... If they came out with sequels to some of their already existing games, and they had online play modes, it sure would make for some great games. Can you guys imagine playing Mario Kart, F-Zero, that new Resident Evil: Outbreak, Final Fantasy, etc. ONLINE? Now that would be awesome...
