Topic: The Last Story Sees Slight Shipping Delay in North America

Operation Rainfall needs to weather a short delay.

The Last Story, developed by Mistwalker and published by XSEED in North America, isn't expected in most North American stores until August 16, missing its slated August 14 release date.

The game was supposed to be out today, but according to XSEED, a late shipment means The Last Story won't be in most stores today.

The Last Story has been out in Japan since early 2011, and came out in Europe back in February of this year. It is the second Operation Rainfall game to make it out in North America, following Xenoblade Chronicles' April release. There is still no word on whether or not Pandora's Tower, the third Operation Rainfall game, will ever make it to North America.

Argh, I thought we moved past that inane "release date/ship date" B.S. years ago.     It would be nice if XSEED would have had their act together w/ this game, considering it's already in danger of being overshadowed by some other notable games releasing today (Sleeping Dogs, Darksiders 2).

I preordered mine from Amazon. Whenever it comes, it comes. Not like I don't have a massive backlog to play until it arrives.

True.  Mine's deep enough as well.  And I just added Final Fantasy VII remake for PC to the list about 30 minutes ago.

I never did play more than a few hours of that game, and I've not bought it three times.

Yeah I am not to disappointed about this. I have other things that I need to do this week so it is not as big a deal and I can play some other games on my backlog as well.

I have a wii that can play all types of games (meaning its not region locked) so i ordered the pal version off of amazon a while ago,




I love the multiplayer!  I cant wait till north america gets it so there are even more players on multiplayer!

Per Amazon my order is slated to ship August 15. Though I never trust dates when it comes to Amazon shipping to Puerto Rico.


But yeah, I'm barely 10 hours into Xenoblade Chronicles. I preordered it just for the extra goodies anyway.

I got a shipment confirmation from newegg this morning (Wednesday), so it appears it really was just a slight delay.  Hopefully I'll get it before the weekend.

Called Gamestop today, and they told me Friday is when they should have it. Now I only have a few days to play it before college.

I pre-ordered to make sure I could secure a copy and to get the soundtrack. I won't get around to actually playing the game for a couple of months.

I think I might replay this game again soon. I'd really love for another game to be released which built off the battle system introduced in The Last Story but I don't know if that's likely. Looking forward to hearing what you guys think of it.
