I went out and got my gamecube on launch date and payed 200$ and i still think its a good deal.  But now new owners who arent the best nintendo fans are getting Gcubes for 150 with a game boy player, while us loyal fans get jack.  Im not positive but i think theres a number on the back of the cube that could tell Nintendo when you bought your cube, so i think they should have us call in and tell them our number and they could at least send us a t-shirt or something like that.  What do you guys think?

It's the price of love.  Or whatever.

Really?  I could care less.  I'm getting what I want and loving it.  But if you want something like that, you should contact Nintendo of America (or wherever you live) and mention it.

You also got to play those games a year before. You could of always waited and went without it and waited for a $50 gameboy player or a free game.. Really you get a gamecube for $100 cause the GB player is $50 .. man its so cheap everyone buy 5 gamecubes

Um, that's what happens over time. Prices go down. And loyal fans get jack? What the hell do you want? You're already getting the choice to play some of the best games around.

Why should they feel the need to send you a bloody T-shirt? You've already paid money for their system! They're giving away stuff like the GB Player with the unit in hope that people who don't have a GC will buy one!

This is like complaining that people at launch got screwed over because their are more games available now. It just doesn't work. Of course more is going to be available for people who buy a cube further down the line. Stuff like this should be expected.

Yes. Yes they (we) are. But not because of that. People know that the price of systems will drop as their life times wear on. That's why many of us have waited to get a PS2 or Xbox.

you can still buy the GBP seperate, so your not getting snubbed at all adding the GBP is as good if not better than a price drop, so yeah, dont worry your pretty little head about it, and buy a gbp

I bought Metroid Prime the day it came out and it was well worth 50 bucks. Same with Wind Waker. Now people can buy Metroid for 20 or less (free with GCN). Did I get jacked? No, I got to play the games for all this time. When Mario Kart comes out for 50 bucks do you think I'm gonna wait another year just to save $20... Hell no. I want them now and I will pay whatever they cost now.

That being said if Nintendo wants to mail me a free Gameboy Player since I bought the GCN for $200 with nothing free I would not complain at all. But if they do, they better let me know ahead of time since I will buy one when it is available as well.

I do not regret buying my GameCube at launch.  We all knew that the price would be dropped, and bundles would be introduced later.  We wanted our games, and we got them.

This is why I'm waiting to buy a GBA SP...I want it cheaper, and I want it in black.  Besides, I already have a GBA so I'm not dying for it.

I don't really feel "snubbed" because I didn't get a free GB Player with my Gamecube.  Hell I modded my Cube and imported a GB Player because I wanted to have one sooner and felt it was worth the extra money to get it two months before everyone else.  If I could do it all again the only thing I would change is that I would have held out for the price cut.  The Gamecube launch was largely lackluster and in retrospect and I don't think it was really worth it to pay extra money when all of the REALLY great games came out after the price drop.  Super Smash Bros Melee and Pikmin are both awesome games but were not really worth paying significant extra money to play earlier.

back in the 64 days here, they use to give away t-shirts and stuff with games.
I asked Nintendo in a letter of they ever plan to do this again, they said no :\
my "bigger then ben hur" top is like medium, and it would rip if i tryed to put it on these days

Nintendo needs to start giving away free stuff, and not just with pokemon games
but with gc stuff, even with the wavebird....would proberly make it sell better

The only thing that I feel Nintendo is snubbing loyal fans with is the current demo disc delemia (sp?), which they will only make available to new Cube purchasers. However, if enough people bitch about it (and that's what Nintendo fans do best ) they might make it available to normal retail.

We paid the price to have the console 2 years earlier, I say. We all could've waited till now and gotten a $150 Gamecube with a GB Player, but we HAD to have it at launch.

Anyway, you wanna talk about getting snubbed, I bought my PS2 one week before the price drop.

Actualy, most stores are defying the 'not for resale' rule. My problem is that most stores in my area haven't recieved shipments yet.

Anywho, i dont think were getting snubbed, we've been playing the Gamecube for over a year now, and honestly the last year has been the best gaming year of my life. If the next system is backwards compatible with the gamecube, then ill get it at launch.
