Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask is finally coming to North America and Europe. During the region's Nintendo Direct conferences, the 3DS Layton title was announced for a November release.

Additionally, like it's predecessors, Miracle Mask will include one downloadable mission everyday for an entire year.

One mission per *DAY*? Hasn't it been 1 per week?

This is one of the reasons I bought my current 3DS, and now it can be played on bigger screens. Plus, I can play it longer with the larger battery.  :D  The final question is: Red or Blue?

The plot in each successive Professor Layton game appears to get more and more anime. I'm not sure I am a fan of that direction -- the great thing about the first two Layton titles was that there were clever and involved (though still wacky) explanations for all the madness and impossibilities that occurred. Now everything is just bananas because... Japan.

Oh well. I do love me some puzzle goodness. And I bet it looks excellent in 3D.

November?  Well, at least this will give me time to play The Last Specter, which is still sitting in my backlog.

If I had to choose one game I am excited for more than anything else, it is this one.

No other game entrances me like a Layton game.

If you couldn't tell by close to 3 a.m. jubilation, I am super excited for this game. I love Layton games so much.

After thinking about the announcements this morning, Professor Layton is probably the best thing (for me) to come out of the event.  I'm still working on Unwound Future between other games so don't really need a new Layton... but it's a great series and one that I will play through eventually.

You know what would be sweet? Releasing the Layton movie on 3DS over the eShop at the same time as Miracle Mask comes out.  Honestly, I'm not sure if that's even possible.  But it would be a compelling introduction to 3DS video for me at least.
