Japan eShop Round-Up (06/06/2012)
« on: June 09, 2012, 10:12:52 AM »

E3/Nintendo Direct Edition.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/feature/30665

It’s an extremely busy week in the world of gaming, as a Nintendo Direct event surfaced last weekend, and with E3 occuring in Los Angeles over the past few days. Despite the business, Nintendo is still apt to deliver some content to the eShop in Japan. Let’s take a look:

3DS Downloadable Titles

Azito 3D Kyoto – 500 yen
Ikkitōsen! Smash Heroes – 400 yen

Virtual Console

Link no Bōken (Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, Famicom) – 500 yen

Video Content

Similar to last year, Nintendo made a few bits of content available for E3 this year. They've also made the E3 Press Conference and the Nintendo Direct Pre-E3 2012 videos available, in their entirety, for streaming on the eShop. Currently on the eShop in Japan, gamers can watch Wii U trailers for New Super Mario Bros. U, Pikmin 3, Project P-100, the developer roundtable, and and three special Iwata Asks interviews. There are also downloadable 3D trailers for New Super Mario Bros. 2, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, and Paper Mario: Sticker Star.

I apologize for the somewhat gimped update this week. Expect things to return to normal next week!

So Japan gets Zelda II and we don't? Why do you think Nintendo is always doing this? Nintendo wants us to believe they love us; so they show it by a decades-old habit of giving Japan everything great and... well.... maybe giving it to us later... or in a gimped version.... or not at all.  I'm not really trying to rant, I just wish Nintendo would stop doing shady things this. It sometimes makes me feel like they are slightly/unknowingly prejudice to Non-Japanese Consumers (Yes, I said it...).

Be bold Nintendo. Throw us a bone every now and then. It could go a long way in building more trust in the relationships with your consumers; and fans.

You should probably pick a game to complain about that large portions of this community don't already have. Like, say, Wario Land. I would be very upset if we got Zelda II next week and nothing else, because we have a backlog of Game Boy games to work through and don't need to be giving non-Ambassadors the ability to overpay for an NES game at the expense of that.

While having Zelda II is nice (and the Famicom Disk System version at that! Better music and all that), if baffles me as to why Wario Land isn't out in North America yet. It's been available in Japan since December and in Europe since February. What the hell, Nintendo?!
