I slipped across some very difficult Zelda questions. Frist of all, I'm in a contest to see who can get the most right. Obviously theres a prize involved. So can anyone help me on these questions?? (Its not like Im posting them all so don't think im cheating, help is appreciated.)


In Super Smash Bros. for the N64 Link's original defensive move was taken out and replaced with that brightly colored orb that all the characters share. What was his origional move?

How many zelda games are there to date including re-releases, and versions?

In Majora's Mask, there was a land mass reference from OoT that could be seen but never reached. What was it?

- A lot.  You didn't specify inclusion of the various Japanese Famicom versions.  I'd say 25 in all including Tetra's Trackers and GCN 4-Swords.
- Death Mountain.  I don't know what you meant by 'never reached' since Link was able to enter the mountain crater that housed Woodfall Temple.
- The Legend of Zelda.
- The Legend of Zelda: Mask of Mujula.
- 560,000+ "pre-orders" (assuming the money-for-demodisc scheme) announced March 12, 2003.

When you were talking about the games, did you also include the 3 zelda games that were so crappy, they never came out (one of them was called "The faces of Evil").

I know that there are 6 OoT versions (3 normal cartages, master quest cartrige for japan, MQ for gc, and OoT for gc).  I think that there are 4 versions of MM (all cartrage)  2 releases for LoZ (three if you count appearance in an animal crossing game) AoL there was 2, links awakening 2,  OOA and OOS each had 1, 2 LttP, 1 ww (so far).  If you count 4 swords, the three games to crappy to release, and all cameo appearances where you play as link (SSB, SSBM, Soul Caliber 2 at least) thats 30+ releases.  If you count japanese cartriges too (famicom, super fc) there is just a hell of a lot of games (55+?).

Wasn't it originally referred to as The Legend of Zelda: Gaiden? or something like that when it was first announced?

"Zelda Gaiden" meaning Zelda Sidestory was a nickname of sorts like "Project Dolphin" was.  When NCL actually started giving it a real title, it turned to "Zelda no Densetsu: Mujura no Kame" (or 'Majora no Kame', whatever).  When NOA got hold of it, they pronounced it as "Mujula".

I don't think that is correct. When the game was released in the states it was called Majora's Mask so I doubt they pronounced it Mujula based on that spelling. If it was ever pronunced that way it would have had to have been in the Japanses version.

You didn't clearly read the earlier posts.

"Legend of Zelda: Mask of Mujula" was the unofficial North American name before it was finalized as "Majora's Mask", hastily based on the pronunciation of the Japanese title.  Spelling isn't important; in Japanese there isn't a definite "L" sound, only a light "R", so saying "Mujula/Mujura" (mu-ju-la/mu-ju-ra) and "Majora" (ma-jo-ra) sounds very very similar.  If you were to pronounce the full Japanese title of Majora's Mask, it would be

"Zeruda no Densetsu: Mujura no Kamen"
"Legend of Zelda: Mask of Mujula"

Edit: my bad, it's supposed to be "Mujura no Kamen" not "Kame no Mujura" (Mujura of turtle?).  I don't know Japanese.  I just watch anime like the rest of the internet.

Acually those three bad Zelda games did come out on a different system though. I own one of them and yes they are really bad. Think Zelda 2 meets a really bad controller and slugglish controls.

There were three Zeldas for the Famicom, which includes the one made for the disk system.

One Zelda game for the Super Famicom.

Two Zeldas for the N64

Three for the CD-i (The bad ones.)

One for the orginal Gameboy.

Three for the Color Gameboy. (One was the remake of the orginal.)

One for the Gameboy Advanced (If you want to get picky there's two if you count 4 swords.)

Three for the Gamecube

Now there is three games he makes an appearence in.

And there are are at least two if not three/four games in the works between the Gamecube/GBA.

The 64 DD one died in development. (Only to become one of the three games for Gamecube.)

All but 6 of them are Nintendo orginals. (3 Capcom, 2 (Face of Evil/Wand of Gamelon) some developer which wishes to remain unknow. and 1 from another which did a better job but still didn't make anything worth playing. Adventure of Zelda)
