Call of Duty may skip Nintendo handhelds this time around.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/30034

n-Space is not currently working on a Call of Duty game for Nintendo handhelds, according to n-Space founder Dan O'Leary via Twitter.

In response to a question asking whether n-Space was working on a handheld counter part to Call of Duty: Black Ops II, O'Leary said "we have no first person shooters in development at this time."

This doesn't rule out the possibility that a different company is working on a handheld version of the game, but n-Space certainly doesn't seem to be working on it.

What?

The Call of Duty DS games are actually pretty fun.  They're a step up from Metroid Prime Hunters.
Just some random guy on the internet who has a different opinion of games than you.

I think it's very likely that whatever company is working on the announced Vita Call of Duty game is probably working on a 3DS version as well.
There was a Signature here. It's gone now.

I don't know how much I'd like that.  Blops II on 3DS might sound cool, and I'm guessing visually if they do the 3D right it might be attractive, but how well would it work with the lack of a 2nd analog?  They could do it stupidly, like Snake Eater, or they could do it smartly, like Revelations.  On RE, I got pretty adept at moving in 1st person with the circle pad / L button combo, strafing and all.  Maybe not COD quality precision...but definitely Goldeneye good.

Oh yeah, I know I have 2 sealed copies of that game.   1 is for trading.  But people who collect Amiibos?  They really have a problem!

Its very posible that Activision(the DEVIL) is giving Nintendo a pass this year, likely they
feel the Wii Version wont sell when the WiiU(worse name ever) is about to launch.
the DS version last christmas probably didnt sell, cause people like me were waiting for
the 3DS version.. And they would much Rather make a portable version on a Handheld
that takes advantage of their ANTIQUATED Dual anolog system that so many can't
seem to let go of.
Well there will always be people who get stuck in the past and cant change with advanced
tech. Remember the people who couldnt change from the Joystick to the D pad.
any way, no big loss, if someone makes a good FPS on the 3DS, i'll preorder mine.
Til then i wont miss the console game i wouldnt buy anyway. (FYI i have a 360 and
NO COD games)

I don't see how anyone could possibly be that ignorant, so I'm just going to assume you're trolling and move on.

I think this may be the case. The Vita/3DS handhelds are advanced and powerful enough that they probably don't require an entire new version to be created from scratch, and can probably to some extent have the regular console version ported over, albeit heavily watered down.

n-Space's services in developing a new handheld version entirely from scratch may no longer be required, because maybe (hopefully) the 3DS is advanced enough to handle a watered down port of the normal console version. That's what I'm hoping will be the case. Of course, this probably also means there won't be a DS version at all, but with the 3DS out now people should be considering moving on anyway.

This is honestly why I didn't buy the game last time.  Being a gamer from the Goldeneye era and not having moved on.  I loved how RE:Revolaitons (hehe) did the buttons and I felt it worked extremely well.  I wanted a CoD on my 3DS and they snubbed us for it.  Lame!

I am feeling like I'm the only guy that would prefer buttons to the extra joy stick right now though lol.

The lack of a second analog may have been the reason why the 3DS hasn't got a COD game thus far. Hopefully Nintendo is working on a 3DS revision which will permanently integrate dual analog, and that way more developers might start supporting it.

The n-Space COD: WAW on DS is excellent. It uses the touch screen for aiming.  (So do their other DS FPS's, I think.) It works great. The online matches were very impressive. I spent lots of time battling online, and I am not a fan of console COD at all. I don't see why the same control scheme would not work on 3DS. I am sure the online would be even better now.

Anyway, I hope COD BLOPS II comes for WiiU and 3DS with unique features that take advantage of each system's capabilities. Some connectivity between the two wouldn't hurt either.
