BluRay Triple Packs...
« on: January 30, 2012, 08:14:13 PM »
...so there are a bunch of BluRay Triple Packs and Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target, etc. Pretty nice deals (if you actually buy movies) since they're $15 each (carry the two, square the denominator...that's $5 each). They're typically two good movies and a not-so-good one. I haven't bought any of them, but I'm tempted to get Friday the 13th Killer Cut/A Nightmare on Elm Street/Freddy Vs Jason or 300/Troy/Alexander. If you love cheesy Steven Segal flicks there's one with Under Siege/Hard to Kill (I think)/Under Siege 2. This can get moved to the "amazing deals" thread, but they aren't exactly that amazing.

Nice to see Bluray is finally starting to be affordable, instead of $30 each which was ridiculous.

300/Troy/Alexander.

Aren't these packs supposed to have at least one decent film in them? :P

300 was decent enough to spawn countless internet memes. Isn't that decent enough?

I'd love to get 300 G-rated version on BluRay. Seriously if you haven't seen the trailer it's the best thing ever.

300 has Jimmy McNulty from The Wire as the bad guy. I had to watch it and Troy for my Ancient History course and analyze modern viewpoints projected into the historical settings.

I wouldn't recommend 300 as a historical documentary.

It wasn't supposed to be a documentary. We were studying them specifically because they were inaccurate to the period and adapted to a more modern viewpoint.
