Bill, where did you hear Retro was adding multiplayer?  I hope they don't.  How is that going to work?  There is only Samus and no one else.  Who would be in the multiplayer.  Also if they use the aiming system from the original there is no way it could work it would be to easy.

if that is the 1st footage and if they can make it look that crisp and clean  and  let you  play 3rd person as well as 1st then that will be just amazing and on my must have list for sure.

Alright, it's true.  Go check out CVG's interview with Miyamoto to see that Retro will most likely add multiplayer into the mix.

unless its some form of counter op, where mr/mrs second player takes controll of the natural and not so natural enemies and attacks samus, any form of death match.. well, samus better be the only human, thats all i can say

Multiplayer? Eh... I suppose it COULD work, but it would be very hard to implement.  A standard four-player deathmatch would be terrible with Metroid controls and weapons... maybe a two-player co-op mode in the main game, though.

And if the kind of third-person action evident from the trailer is available in this game, I will scream joy.  However, I have a hunch that it's just a cut-scene... sigh. I wanna wall-jump!

Hey, hey, hey.  Having more than one Samus for multiplayer isn't THAT bad.  They did it with Link and noone complained.

Where does MP2 take place in the Metroid timeline? is it after Fusion? As Metroid:Zero mission seems to be a prequel to the original Metroid game.

Also where can I find any videos or screen shots of this game?

It could be called Metroid Prime 2.  Metroid Prime was the name of the breed of Metroid, there were a few metroid types in it. It was like the queen metroid. So if that one is killed and another takes its place. Then there is still only one Prime.

But thats just being pedantic.

IT would be stupid to have videos judged as Gmae of the Show. DOOM3 last year beening decleared as such was limitless in it's stupidity. I mean, the likely hood of it happening been pretty non-existant, but what happens it DOOM3 turned out to be turd? Judging games by video is insane. Reminds me of the PSX ads. All FMV, no gameplay. Grrrrrr.

That would be AWESOME, a type of Co-op kinda like Four swords.....Could you imagine four bounty hunters playing a massive level that tests the skills and thinking power of all of them? Then they face a huge final boss, and they have to work together to defeat it. Along the way they fight mini-bosses and decides who gets the power ups and what not.

I bet we'll need our trusty GBA's for multiplayer. Awe, that'll be great.

Yeah, not funny at all. Boy, if they were to do that, I would absolutely scream bloody murder. Although, actually, it would suit me just fine because I just don't like the thought of multiplayer Metroid. What are they going to do? Pit you against multiple Samus'? Okay, lets be exactly like Halo. Metroid is perfect as it is. Prime is among, maybe even at the top of my favorite games list, all-time.

the footage looks great.
that Is *ONLY* some new form of space pirate, nothing more.  Definately looks more robotic than most.

I'm under the impression that metroid prime 2, will *NOT* come out for gamecube.  Considering how amazing the first prime was, I believe nintendo will ask Retro to make it a LAUNCH TITLE for the next system.  Where even more amazing stuff can be pulled off.

Thats what nintendo SHOULD do.

regardless, it looks good, though watching samus get her ass beat by something is never good.  If there's any sort of multiplayer, i bet its just 2 player co-op.  Thats all that could work with the series.  The second player could be guy with the BLUE chozo suit, that was mentioned in the Super Metroid comics (and was shown dead in metroid 3, before Kraid)

(Prime 2 could be after metroid 2, but before metroid 3... which could explain why he's dead in metroid 3)
wow.. thinking too far ahead there... ME WANT MP2!
