Four Swords Features GB, NES Levels
« on: September 12, 2011, 11:25:43 PM »

The upcoming title has levels from systems you might not expect.

At the Nintendo 3DS Conference 2011, screens of the upcoming 3DS version of Four Swords were shown.

Amongst the footage was gameplay from Game Boy and NES levels that maintained the four-player mayhem of the original game, but with visual presentations matching each system.

Four Swords is set to release for 3DS later this year.

I didn't even notice that. Must have been looking away.

I saw Koholint-Island style gameplay.

It's great that it's coming out for the 3DS too. There's only one reason I still have my DSi, Pinball Pulse.

IGN reports that Four Swords will be playable in single-player for the first time in this new release, so you might want to add that important detail - I know a few people had trepidations about whether they'd be able to play it alone or not. IGN also mentioned it will be available for download from 28th September 2011 until 20th February 2012. Limited edition, but that's a decent window, and of course it's free.

Hooray! Never played this one, though I did play its successor on Gamecube.

I am impressed, not only is it free, but they have put some extra work into it instead of making it a direct port. Looking forward to playing it.

GCN could be played single-player.  Someone need to fact check.
