Nintendo Planning 3DS Event in September?

A rise in Nintendo's stock may be a hint to a future event.

Nintendo is expected to hold an event related to the 3DS on September 13, Bloomberg reports.

The report mentions that investors have learned about this event, causing Nintendo's stock to rise 9.7%.

The Tokyo Game Show will take place later that week. From September 15 through the 18, several Japanese game companies will show off their latest games to the public. While it is expected that some of them will have 3DS, DS and Wii software to show, Nintendo has traditionally opted out of showing any new efforts.

Seriously enough I wouldn't be too surprised to see the release of the Marios to be accelerated.

Mysterious event or 3DS sales jumping +700%. Wonder which one it could be...
 
Not to mention the market is up overall, ~2.5%.

The Nikkei (which is the market Nintendo trades on) is up 1.22%. Still, I do think increased 3DS sales was more likely the reason than announcing an event since Nintendo tends to hold multiple events throughout the year.

Nintendo trades on more than one market and is also affected by more than one. A perk of being a pink sheet.

Anyways, I'm glad that they confirmed this rumor. I still don't believe it had much of anything to do with the stock increase.
