The top of Death Mountain?  I hope it is not an obvious question because of the swiwling clouds, location to Hyrule castle and the bomb flowers.  Anyway I wonder why most of the Gorons were wiped out if it is the top.

some of the Gorons still seem to be left,  those traders with the huge back packs seem to look like gorons but you cant tell.  It could be just dark fat people that are really strong to carry those packs and wear a lot of clothes

you can blow off trader's hats with leaves...

Also, compare the oot map with the ww sea chart.  look at all of the consistencies with locations in oot (ex: market=windfall, desert colossus=forsaken fortress, forest haven= kokiri forest)

But one thing puzzles me...  When did the tower of the gods appear? When was it built?  The closest it coencides with anything is the ranch.
If we could only look at things we could afford we'd all be looking at crap.

From my understanding the Tower of the Gods just appeared by magic. It hadn't actually been built. At least that's how I took it.

Yeah, is cool.  The Tower of the Gods may have been created then, or it could have been buried since before OoT and just rose out of the ocean then.

I agree that Dragon Roost Island may be Death Mountain, but I've also heard a lot of people talk about how the Rito's maybe the decendants of the Zora's just as the Koroks are decendants of the Kokiri's.  This seems true, especially when we consider the sages later in the game.

However, this kind of throws off the Death Mountain theory.  The parallels don't match up:

Kokiri Forest:Kokiri's::Forest Haven:Koroks (This works)

Death Mountain:Goron's:ragon Roost Island:Rito's (Where do the Zora's fit in)?

I have no idea why the Zoras would need to have changed either.  I'm pretty sure that is how the story is laid out, but you'd think the Zoras would thrive in this vast ocean.  It would have been cool to meet up with them instead of the Fish-Men things.

Though it implies that the Rito are related to the Zoras, if you look at the Rito themselves they seem to have mostly Hylian qualites and NO Zoran qualities, so more likely they evolved from some of the Hylians somehow through some kind of magic or something. I doubt that the Zorans are entirely dead since they are water people, plus if they can leave in the waters for all we know they still exist in Hyrule under the ocean since we really didn't get to explore Hyrule to much in Windwaker.

I was wondering about that, too.  The first sage seems to suggest that the Ritos are descended from Zoras, but why?  You think they'd do well in the ocean.

They could have gone two ways, Ritos and Zoras.  There's one pirate that talks about fish people that will pull you under water, but I think he may be referring to the map fish.  He could have been hinting at the existence of Zoras, however.

I just find this whole Zora/Rito thing very interesting.  Think about it, in OoT, it's Princess RUTO and now the new race are the RITO, seems more than coincidental.

Also, consider this:  Go back to OoT and look at the other Zora's besides the King and Ruto.  They all have a crested head and large fin-type arms.  In WW, the Rito adults have somewhat of a crested head and large wing-type arms.

The connections are there, but the whole idea that Dragon Roost Island is Death Mountain throws me.  Where did the Gorons go, and how did the Zoras get there and evolve.

Gorons are traders.  I think the Ruto Rito thing is unrelated, but the crest thing is more reasonable.

Rymir, the Ritos get their wings from Valoo, the wind spirit dragon guy.  He gives them a scale and they grow wings.  Whether or not they're Hylians or Zoras is still a mystery, though.
Actually, that's another connection, though a loose one.  Zora scales allow you to swim, Valoo scales let you fly.  Probably totally unrelated, but I couldn't help but think that while I was typing.

1) The Zora think is explained easily if you listened to Ganondorf at the end of the game.  He was talking about how ocean covered the land, yet no fish live in it.(Monsters don't count, obviously)  So the Zora couldn't survive in the Great Sea, allowing them to adapt on land.

2) Remember that Hyrule Castle was completely destroyed at the end of OoT.  Obviously some time after OoT the people of Hyrule built the new castle where the ranch was.(They probably did this because the castle is in the middle in LttP too)

Your first point isn't very good. . . Ganondorf is referring to Tetra's dreams, so what he's saying probably does not apply to the real ocean.  And there is obviously wild life in the water.  Flying fish thingies, sharklike monsters, map fish, squids of all sizes, sea gulls (suggesting that there are normal fish that they must eat), and the mere fact that Outset is a fishing village.  Your second point, however, is totally reasonable, and I agree to a certain extent.

I'm not actually sure if the castle was brought back after Ganondorf was destroyed; that could be.  Otherwise, however, you'd probably be right.

I guess that settles it.  The Princess Zelda really is stupid.  First she let's Link take charge of the Ocarina of Time, giving old desert-pig-wizard access to the Sacred Realm, now she can't even recall her own game.

My gosh, whatever will we do with you princess... besides rescuing you on each Nintendo system.

Fire Mountain and D. Roost island are two parts of the mountainous region that Death Mountain is in. Hylia Lake is obviously impossible to find. But wait... Hyrule Castle is in the center of the map, like Lttp. But in OOT, the castle is in the north of the map...

I sort of considered the fact that the portal doesn't teleport you straight down; how would the God's Temple rise up straight through Hyrule Castle?  It could send you elsewhere.
