why wouldn't nintendo drop the gamecube to $99 and keep the gba sp at the same price...think about it.  the gba is on its playing in its own handheld market w/o current competition.  i know that it would make the gamecube's value look less than the gba sp...people can't find an sp anywhere anyways (not in san diego anyways).  so they can do it for a while...that's what i think

In reply to the kids not owning a GameCube:
I think the price won't help either way.
From what I hear, most kids under the age of 14 or 15 won't buy a GameCube because it's kiddy. My parents are very, very strict (my mom starts sweating when I ask for a M-rated game), but even I got away with Halo, and even DOA: Xtreme Beach Volleyball.
2nd) When kids see "Xbox - $150, PS2 - $150, GCN - $100", they're going to think the reason the GCN is cheaper is because it's a less powerful console/ it's not doing very well.
Above everything else, kids want to do what the "adults" are doing. They think adults are buying Xboxes (which isn't true from what I've seen, most gamers over the age of 18 have a PS2 and many have a GCN).
Of course, where I live price is rarely a concern. So maybe in "less-fortunate" neighborhoods, they will start buying a GCN once it goes under 100.
Check out the games I own!

Just wait until E3.  Nintendo could drop their price in response to Microsoft and Sony.  Then again, if the GCN is priced around a hundred dollars, wouldn't Nintendo be losing money for every system sold?  The GCN is not even two years old in the US.  More realisticially, I see a price cut down to $119.99.
I got some killaz on my payroll.

I saw your little disclaimer, but you I'm never one to pass up a chance at a free piece of consumer electronics.

Surely they realize that by making another price cut they might end up losing money on every system that they sell instead of making a profit or breaking even??

They can join the club then. Its not that big a deal. Should have remain $100 less the PS2 and Xbox all along, I believe like it was in the beginning. That way you would be getting your moneys worth. Heck PS2 could legitimtely be $50-$100 less then xbox, and it would make sense. Making xbox in the neigborhood of $300 all over again, but just saying.

i will be suprised if the price doesnt drop by e3. pgc ran the strory and from what it said it seemed pretty likely that the consoles will all recieve price cuts at e3.
