Bit.Trip Saga Coming to 3DS
« on: April 28, 2011, 08:31:19 PM »

Commander Video's entire story will be retold on the 3D handheld.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/26181

All six of Gaijin Games' Bit.Trip games will be released in an enhanced compilation on the 3DS.

The package will include Beat, Core, Fate, Flux, Runner and Void. Each one features a unique gameplay concept fused with rhythm action that makes use of the series' chiptune based soundtrack.

All games will retain their respective features. In addition, they will feature 3D visuals courtesy of the system's glasses-free 3D screen.

A release date for the collection hasn't been revealed at this time.

It's going to be hard to stay in that sweet spot for 3D in Beat, isn't it? If it controls like it does on the Wii or on iDevices...

I wonder if they would consider adding a checkpoint system to Beat and Core. And maybe try to put together the online high score leaderboards that they wanted to have on the WiiWare games. Either way, I hope Gaijin does okay from this compilation - at least 4 of the 6 titles are absolutely worth playing.

This is a great idea for 3DS. At $40, the cost is roughly the same as downloading everything on WiiWare, but you get portability and 3D with this package. I agree that they should offer arranged modes of the early games to add optional checkpoints. And ALL of these should have online leaderboards!

...Why does the press release skip over Fate?

I asked Aksys, and they sent back an updated release with Fate added.

This is pretty much the only way the games to live up to their middle names even more.

jonny is 100% right. This would be great for friends score sessions. Imagine getting notification your friend beat your score via spot pass, and keep battling that way for high scores
