I've got to say, Silicon Knights are not the next Rare. You just can't compare. I think Retro has some talent that turned Metroid into 3D successfully and Retro's future games should be good to see(They seem like a FPS group). AS for E3, I'm sure there what I am interested in seeing now will be completely changed by the end of E3. I really want to see Star Fox. I hope it brings back some of the SNES feeling or just creates an entire new atmosphere. I don't know if working from MP to SP in that game is good, but I trust Namco (as Nintendo obviously does) with Star Fox. I really like Nintendo's strategy, they give a company (2nd party or sometimes 3rd) a popular franchise and ask that company to make a good game. Well, that company will put all their effort into that game because they know that if they screw up, Nintendo won't be happy. Thus, everybody is happy, and Nintendo can have MANY projects going on at once. Some good examples of Nintendo doing this are...
-Rare develops Donkey Kong (Star Fox doesn't count because it was a last moment decision and Dinosaur Planet was WAY better with the orignal characters, Rare would have just sold horribly with that title)
-Retro Studios develops Metroid
-SEGA/AM develops F ZERO
-Namco develops Star Fox
-Silicon Knights develop MGS
-Capcom develops Zelda GBA
So yeah, E3 baby!
EDIT: Oh and Rare didn't suck. At least when they started out, they were a very very good developer. They made Goldeneye, Banjo Kazooie, Perfect Dark, Conker's Bad Fur Day and many others. However, it was wise of Nintendo to sell them. Nintendo is taking more risks, but I think they are good risks (not SEGA risks heh). In the future we'll find out what really happens.
