Wii Play: Motion and Mystery Case Files Hitting Wii in June
« on: April 12, 2011, 11:13:30 AM »

Ocarina of Time 3D rounds out Nintendo's June lineup.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/26026

Wii Play: Motion, Mystery Case Files: Dust to Dust, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D will be coming out in June in North America, according to Nintendo of America.

Wii Play: Motion, slated for June 13, will come bundled with a Wii Remote Plus and contain 12 different mini-games that make use of the MotionPlus controls. Some examples include swinging a mallet in a Whack-A-Mole-esque game, and tilting an umbrella to glide along the wind.

Mystery Case Files: Dust to Dust, coming out on June 27, is a sequel to the DS title developed by Big Fish Games. Using the Wii Remote, players search for hidden objects in various environments. Friends can join the mystery in cooperative and competitive modes.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is Nintendo's lone 3DS release for Q2 2011, and is due out on June 19. Ocarina of Time 3D will include Master Quest.

See below for the full list of releases for North America in Q2 2011.

They are finally following up Wii Play with a sequel?

It's about a year or 2 late now. It should have launched with the M+ or the WiiMote+ though.

When Does Club Nintendo end for the year? I want to use WiiPlay 2 to push me to Elite status if possible.
My mom's b-day is around then and she loves those mini games in the Wii___ series.

This will be the 4th "game" they've sold with a remote.

I think that's a mistake. It's supposed to be next Tuesday.

Wii Play: Motion. I can hear the RFN and Newscast jokes already.  :P:

Certainly diverse, though not as hard-hitting as last year's, what with Galaxy 2 and all. Though Ocarina of Time 3D and a few other 3DS titles sound interesting.
This is where I would write something witty or funny if I had any ideas.

Wii Play: Motion, because that title's not silly or redundant at all.   ::)

I'm curious about Mystery Case Files, but otherwise that pre-E3 announcement release schedule is pretty sad.
There was a Signature here. It's gone now.

3DS - Looking fairly solid up to E3! There are some interesting third-party titles coming before Zelda. Rest of 2011 should be good.

DS - Horrible, but that's no surprise since the successor is now on shelves.

Wii - A surprise Wii MotionPlus game would be exciting, if it was anything other than a Wii Play sequel. Mystery Case Files is a hidden object game; there are enough of those on WiiWare already, though this one has a story element. Nintendo isn't publishing any Wii titles in March, April, or May (an entire quarter!), and their last first-party developed titled was DKCR in November. I don't think it will hurt Zelda's sales to reveal some aspects of the next console at E3; even if it's not coming until 2012, Nintendo could benefit from the early hype and third-party interest.

Possibly, but I have a hunch that the next Nintendo console will be revealed in the same way as the 3DS: announced with minimal information early next year, then the full blow-out of details at E3 2012.

I'm harbouring small hopes that Nintendo has a final hurrah for the Wii in the second half of this year. Recent comments from an NoE rep have suggested that there are more Wii projects still to come - of course, these comments are often frivolous, but who knows, we might be in luck. Based on their attitudes to handling announcements, I don't think Nintendo is ready to lift the lid on the 'Super Wii' just yet.

I'm actually excited about Wii Play Plus.  I never got the first Wii Play, and this one seems to have... STONE SKIPPING!  A perfect use of the Wii Motion Plus.  The other ones I can see are Whack-a-mole and some umbrella floating game.

Ooh, new Wii Play game!

I'm also excited for this title. The original game was a lot of fun; I was thinking of going back to it earlier to beat some of my high scores.

I'd been meaning to check out the other Mystery Case Files games.... how does the room feel about them?

Also, I gotta say, I loooooooved Wii Play. Why?

One word.  One punctuation.

"Tanks!"

I don't see how this new game could improve upon Tanks! with M+, but I'd strongly consider purchasing any follow-up to that awesome game.  In fact, if they took the old Tanks!, added new maps and online co-op, I know at least 2 other people that would buy this and play it with me.

Also, like it or not, this is technically Nintendo showing support for the M+.  Just sayin'.  Is it SkywardSword calibre? No. But it's something.

Tanks would make a good WiiWare game.... also an even better 3DSWare game.

WiiParty didn't come with a remote.... did it?

I feel ripped off if it did, even though I got it in a B2G1 deal on Amazon

Well this is a surprise. After both the Motion Plus accessory and Wii Remote Plus launched, I didn't think there would ever be a sequel to Wii Play. My sister likes Wii Play, but I don't need another Wii Remote, so I'm disappointed there will be no stand-alone version. There are now tens of millions of Wii Motion Plus accessories and Wiimotes out there now so I highly doubt I'm the only one like this, so it doesn't make much sense to not have a game-only version, especially since there has already been a game to include a Wiimote Plus.

As for Wii Party, as far as I can gather it had a Wiimote bundle in every territory except North America.
