VOTE for The 12th Man Campaign starts here
« on: March 21, 2011, 03:58:20 PM »
http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/feature/madden2012cover

EA has put up the brackets for the winner of the Cover of Madden 2012, and as we all know the Madden Curse continues.
Every team in the brackets has an actual player listed except for Seattle Seahawks who only have The 12th Man listed.
So I was to start a campaign to get The 12th Man selected for the cover of Madden '12

Why?
Are you not curious to see if the Madden Curse can strike on the fans in stands instead of a lone man on the field?
Besides, I hear there is this stupid strike going on and there might not be a season next year if it doesn't get sorted out, so why reward some greedy player with the cover this year? Why not give it to the fans?

So go VOTE The 12th Man and then pass the link on everywhere and get everyone else to do the same.

What would they actually put on the cover if the 12th Man was elected?  I guess they're just betting that a franchise with pretty much no fanbase outside the Pacific Northwest is not going to win out over one of the more popular teams like the Steelers or Cowboys so they don't have to think of the logistics of it.  That is a fair assumption unless groundroots internet sabotage goofs it all up so I'm on board! :)

The thing is though the Seahawks aren't a very good team right now.  They only got into the playoffs last year on the technicality that they were the least sucky team in a division where no team had a winning record.  So let's say if there is a season next year the Seahawks have an abysmal season.  I think people would just assume that that's because the Seahawks suck, not because they're cursed.

As for a curse specifically for the fans in Seattle that already happened a few years ago.  The SuperSonics left for OKC in the same year that the Mariners and Seahawks had exceptionally lousy seasons.  That was the cursed season for the 12th Man.  So it would have to be worse than that?

I don't want the Seahawks to win(lose) this competition, since they play in the same stadium as my Sounders and I don't want any collateral damage to spill over.

Weirdest match-up: Matt Ryan v. Jordan Gross. I had never even heard of Jordan Gross, and I'm a huge NFL fan. I guess they needed someone from the Panthers, though.

What would they actually put on the cover if the 12th Man was elected?

I guess a stadium of fans.
