Gotcha Force - another Capcome game?
« on: May 05, 2003, 02:56:49 AM »
Yep, that's right folks.  It seems that Capcom is giving us more GC love.

Thanks to The Magic Box, they listed Capcom's E3 lineup, and the only game I've hadn't heard of was Gotcha Force.  I wonder what type of game this is?

Do I have a short term memory span, or is this an unannounced game?

I guess Gotcha Force can round up the Capcom 5 and make it Capcom 6 eh?
I've never heard of it, though, but hopefully, the game isn't kiddy like I'm thinking.

It also appears exclusive as it wasn't on the Xbox and PS2 list...

Spread the Capcom love folks!

Yeah this was brought up on another message board. Some people believed it could be a name change for a title we already know about. I guess we will have to wait until E3 to find out.

the title makes it sound like a game like fighting force. you know run around and beat people up and throw things at them, and basically the same thing through each stage, i hope its not too much like that, that game bored me after the first few stages.

It's sort of like a cartoon version of The Grid, with the obligatory Pokemon elements.
Capcom will be showing a new third-person shooter for GameCube at E3. Gotcha Force is essentially a kid-targeted deathmatch game, similar to Nintendo's own Custom Robo series. Players collect toys and make them fight each other in 3D arenas, apparently in real-time.

As with any game of this sort, you can collect tons of different toys (there are 100 in all) and trade with friends to assemble the ultimate team. The game supports battles of up to four players, and you can even team up and take on the computer in some kind of co-op mode.

Gotcha Force will be on display in Capcom's booth at E3 in just a couple of weeks. We'll have more information and impressions at that time.

DAMN! I was afriad of this. I'm reserving judgment, but when they say "...it's a kiddy version of..." then it's a bit like another nail in the 'ole coffin.

At first I thought this was a game based on the anime Gotcha Men,(or whatever, I probably mispelled it) but now that I hear what it acctualy is like it makes me wonder.

Well they said it was like Customer Robo which is a good series. And a series which Nintendo is reviving. I will be giving this a good look.

And the Dead Pheonix title has been report as Canned by some sources. We wil find out at E3.

I believe you mean CUSTOM Robo, and yes, it is a good series which we in America should all sorely want.

And also, before they took down the E3 page, Capcom had some art and info about this game.  It involved collecting and battling toy soldiers...or something.
