OCP helps fund statue of Robocop for Detroit
« on: February 16, 2011, 05:22:31 PM »

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/imaginationstation/detroit-needs-a-statue-of-robocop

Story: Someone starts a Facebook page dedicated to getting a statue of Robocop put up in Detroit.
The statue is being entirely funded by the people (as the city of Detroit is broke).
The Imagination Station in Detroit has offered a piece of land to erect the statue on should it get made.
Peoples donations reach about 25k of the hopeful 50k needed to make the statue a reality.
OCP* (The same Corp. from the movie and the creators of BRAWNDO: The Thirst Mutilator & Sex Panther Cologne) donates another 25k to cross the goal line of 50k.

*OCP = Omni Consumer Products

Funny how Robocop is over 20 years old now and "Old Detroit" is still having problems.  You could have made the same movie now and it wouldn't be dated.  In that sense errecting a Robocop statue is kind of silly since the movie pretty much shits on Detroit.  Maybe they should direct their efforts at that Delta City project OCP was all into back in the day.

This is meta-awesome. Eminem, Chrysler, and RoboCop will combine forces to save Detroit.

RoboCop is my favorite movie.
I think it says on the box, 'No Hispanics' " - Jeff Green of EA

Anyone ever think Joanna Dark's Magsec 4 looked a lot like Murphy's piece, or is it just me?

EASYCURE: I remember thinking(don't ask me why) this was a blond haired, blue eyed, chiseled athlete. Like he looked like Seigfried before he became Nightmare.
