Too human Confusion, help
« on: May 04, 2003, 06:38:51 AM »
I remember a long time ago, I think Spaceworld 2000, that there was FMV video footage of Too Human. I still have remaining pictures of the video, but not the video itself. But the thing that confuses me is that I can't find this video footage on any site anymore. On top of that, most people say footage has never been released. So my main problem is, was this really Too Human footage or am I just getting confused over a game that was cancelled and scraped?

I think that the Too Human footage that was shown, might have been early builds on the original Playstation.  I think that game is being worked on still, because Silicon Knights has mentioned in numerous interviews that Eternal Darkness runs on a subset of the Too Human game engine.  I just think they want to make Too Human an even better experience than Eternal Darkness is.

BS.

Too Human was definitely not scrapped- Denis Dyack has stated that Silicon Knights has finished every game they've ever worked on. Too Human WILL come out.

As for the FMV footage, I know what you're talking about (a lot of places have those shots). It was indeed from an FMV movie but I seriously doubt you'll be able to download it. Most of the FMV shots have the Silicon Knights logo on it, which leads me to believe that they were officially released rather than taken from a video by a website, and it is my assumption that Silicon Knights has not released that video.

Loyd, we're talking about the Gamecube version, not PSX, but thanks any ways.

Well, thanks for the info guys, I knew I wasn't the only one who remembered that footage. I wonder why SK removed it?

Too Human doesn't exist. Anyone who thinks differently will be dragged from their beds at night and be silenced.

anyways,

is Silicon Knights a relatively small company? I heard 50 something people work there... is that considered small?

with MGS:TS in development, i wonder if any work will continue on Too Human until MGS:TS is through
I'll shut up now...

everyone seems so obssesed with it....i dont get whats so good about it. it seems like one of those games that is speculated about alot, but never actually released.

the game is being developed and will be released, its coming along great, and the ingame action should look as good as the FMV screens according to Dyack.

This game is so hyped because its sound so awesome, and even sites like cube.ign.com list it as their most anticipated game for the cube

THANKS MAN!!!!  I had no idea that real footage of Too Human existed anywhere on the internet.

But yeah, Too Human is made by one of my personal favorite developers.  They have a nearly perfect track record, and their last game is in my top 5 best games of all time.  They have promised us a game that will knock our socks off.  I am hyped about the game for that reason alone.

Yes, I am well aware of that, considering that no footage was ever shown for N64 or GameCube.  The thing is that it is all that we have at this point, and shows a great deal more about the game than some screenshots of an FMV.

Too Human's been a back burner project for Silicon Knights since before Legacy of Kain (in fact, Denis said the Soul Reaver was originally a weapon in Too Human but was moved over to LoK early in it's development). I think it's safe to say SK's always got somebody working on Too Human, but it's never really been their main project. I'm hoping they'll seriously get to work on this after MGS:TS is released.

Grey Ninja, Silicon Knights said the game went through some big changes after it came over to GCN....So the FMV stills are probably better material to look at...

Yeah, but I can at least see a glimpse of what the gameplay will be like.  I realize that by now it would hardly be recognizable, but it was still great seeing it in motion.

Remember Eternal Darkness on N64?  It was very different when it finally came out, but you could still really see the similarities.

Yeah but with Eternal Darkness, it was a graphical upgrade, not a serious change to the game...

I think Too Human's been in development for something like 8 years now, closing on 9. Like I said, though, it's always been a backburner project. According to Denis, the in game graphics of Too Human now look as good as those FMV shots we were talking about.

Man, this game should sell like hot cakes if they advertise it well enough. I think Denis pointed out that the advertising was low for ED, which is why it sold soo poorly. They might spruce up the advertising, now

Actually the press and everyone were saying that ED sold poorly because Nintendo didn't advertise, but Denis backed up Nintendo (suck up ) and said it was actually because ED didn't have that "flash" and "pizazz" to catch people's attention like Hollywood movies...
