Not too long ago I bought an adapter that plugs into one of the Gamecube ports on my Wii and allows me to play the Virtual Console games with their respective retro controllers. The adapter includes ports for NES, SNES, N64, and Genesis. I later realized that since the Master System and Commodore 64 uses the same controller cables as the Genesis this adapter can now accomodate two more controllers. However, the adapter does not have a port for Turbografx 16 nor the Neo Geo.
Here is my dilema: I need some way to to use my TG16 and Neo Geo controller for my virtual console games. The only problem is that Neo Geo controllers are very expensive and hard to find. I have searched Ebay and found several, but they are fifty dollars or more and they are imports from Japan. However, I did find a Neo Geo controller for the PS2 along with a second adapter that allows a PS2 controller to be played on the Gamecube/Wii. I might look into going this route, which would leave me with the TG16 controller.
I have found that the TG16 controller is similar enough to the NES controller that I actually substitute it with the NES controller to play Rondo of Blood. This is just not the same and I want an alternative like actually using the original controller.
Lastly, the only way I can get these controllers to work is to do a bunch of wiring and soldering that is way betond my abilities to perform. Also, I found a SNK Neo Geo fight stick for the Wii for $80, but that is still too high.
