Yesterday afternoon at PAX, I attended the Retronauts live podcast. During that show, they had a running contest for the best piece of retro gaming that someone had on them at that moment. From what I could see, a copy of SOTN for Saturn won. When it was my turn to speak, dressed as Dr. Horrible, I first plugged RFN, as was necessary. Then, I asked whether there could also be a contest for the worst piece of retro gaming that someone had. I then pulled out of my front pocket a copy of Shaq-Fu for the SNES. I won that contest and proceeded to have Chris Kohler sign it for me. He can now say that he has signed a copy of Shaq-Fu, and I now have his autograph.

How was the Retronauts panel?  It's supposedly the second-to-last episode of the podcast.  :(

I really enjoyed it. Parish said that they have decided to move on to other things, and that he really doesn't like podcasts.

I'm sad.  I love Retronauts.  It's the best gaming podcast that's not named Radio Free Nintendo.  And while I really like classic gaming, I mainly just like to hear Parish and Kohler talk.  If Retronauts retires I hope those two still find the time to get together in the same room, chat about video games and then post it on the Internet.

I remember playing this game. 

Shaq fu was advertised as one of the fastest fighters created.  And it was true, the pace was fast and furious.   I like that the characters were actually quite small, which allowed for the jumping mechanic to seem bigger and greater. 

THe balance of the characters wasn't that create...and the special moves were quite boring.  Overall, I thought the game had promise, but it wasn't great.
