@Kytim89:  Snatcher!
I've wanted to play that since I first saw images of the Japanese version way back in the early 90s.  And I think I'd actually prefer the TG-16 version, since didn't that have the original, uncensored graphics and storyline, whereas the Sega-CD game left some of that out for the American version?  Could be wrong.  Either way, I'd love to revisit an early Kojima experience... for the first time.

Snatcher was a digital novel, but it could also be considered a precursor to the Ace Atterny series. It would be nice to have that game as either a TG16 title, but it would have to be released as an import title like Rondo of Blood. They could also turn the SEGA CD version into a rebirth title for wiiware.

I also wish that Policenauts would be brought over too because that game has never gotten an official US release for the exception of a fan translation.

People expect me to wear my heart on my sleeve.  If that includes overstating my opinion to make a point, then so be it.

I will say that the style in no way overshadowed the unending repetition for me.  Because it is monumentally repetitive.  The stylistic types is a very short list.  I'd say if someone asked me if they should buy this game I'd tell them no.

Unless they're a career accountant.  They love repetition and hunting down things like cars and other material assets.  Also, they're boring just like this game can get after the sixth "go kill X number of enemies" mission.

For revenge, the next Newscast will be all about how much Golden Sun sucks.

It honestly doesn't bother me that much, especially since I know that game is polarizing, but there was a part of me that wishes I could've been on the show to defend the game. Jon's attempt at defending it for me was met with a smack across the face. I think that's where James said I was wrong.

All this talk about Red Steel 2 reminds me that I have been neglecting my copy of the game for Monster Hunter 3. Although I liked what I saw of the game, I do not like repetitive game play, but every game is repetitive in its own way.

All this talk about Red Steel 2 has only made me want to play it more. IGN even did an article talking about why the game didn't sell.
This is where I would write something witty or funny if I had any ideas.

In No More Heroes 1 & 2 the wrestling moves are awkward to perform because the motions that one has to perform with the Wii remote and nunchuck are reversed. It’s not too difficult to flip left and right every time in my mind but it would be like if you had to drive your car in reverse every time you needed to drive somewhere. It’d get annoying pretty fast.

Yes but there are no pointer controls so all you'd do by switching controllers is put the analog stick under your off-hand's thumb

What? It's true! That's who he is on the podcast; if he weren't sarcastic and hyperbolic he would be completely out of character.

Let's say Red Steel 2 is 10 hours.
Let's say it isn't unplayable in repetition.
Let's say it costs more than $8.

There is no reason to give the game anything more than a rental. It's greatly unlikely that you'll replay the game. There's no reason to. All the talk of people not wanting to play with motion controls killing sales, how about the fact at 10 hours two people (Jonny and myself) got bored. Not exactly the word of mouth that resonates with perspective customers.

Let's say I really liked the combat mechanics in Red Steel 2.
Let's say I used the lock-on mechanic that made switching between the sword and the gun easy for me.
Let's say I had fun with it for the 10 hours the game lasts.
Let's say I really dug the art direction and setting.

I would totally recommend this game to people to buy. I don't think it's worth $50 (a point I mentioned on Newscast before), but definitely at $30 or lower.

On another note, I can comment on the behind the scenes of Nintendo Week. Allison and Gary seem to know nothing about video games,  and I've seen two directors. One was this outspoken Asian, and the other was this very demanding woman in her 40s or 50s. Also, Lauren signed a release or whatnot at the Nintendo event, and the guy who made her sign it was like "Please sign this. It's my first day. I don't wanna get fired."

Ubisoft should hold out on Red Steel 3 until motion control is perfected further and the wii 2 is announced.

I really enjoyed the combat though I do agree with Yahtzee that the Tiger move makes it too easy (directional block and dodging heavy attacks? Why bother when you've got a super block that cannot be broken?). A fun way to get rid of more annoying enemies (like the stronger ninjas) is to turn away and wait for them to attack, then use The Storm's counter-finisher function.

Don't remember having any trouble with lock-on getting in the way or anything. It's a first person brawler, lock-on is normal in those (Zeno Clash also has lock-on). The reason I don't use the guns much is that finisher kills get higher cash bonuses though when I'm desperate I'll mow 'em down with the SMG.

Lol!

That reminds me of the time when I sat down with a PR rep in silence because they had no games to talk about but were told to, "get the media excited about upcoming releases without revealing any information." We laughed about that fact for a couple of seconds and I sat there and worked on an article so that they wouldn't get in trouble for me leaving the booth thing so soon.
Bless you, my child.

Random complaint, but why does Jonny keep reversing the numbers in Kytim89's user name when he reads his letters on RFN?  It's Kytim89, not Kytim98.  I think this is the second time this has happened.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

When you write your next letter, post your name as Kytim98. Maybe Jonny will reverse it, while actually saying it correctly.
