NEVER DOWNLOAD THIS!!!!! it totally screwed up my old computer.  it logged on to the internet automaticlly (no phones then, now i have broadband), and never went away.  it loaded itself onto almost every program on the computer so it was near impossible to get rid of.  it was one of the reasons we got a new computer.  now my mom is paranoid about downloading from the net.  anyone else get Bonzi BUddy?  i'd like to hear oter way this legal virus messed up your computer.

bonzi buddy is a stupid little purple gorrilla thing that swings around your computer desktop.  you can tell it what to say, play games, and it even tells bad jokes.  it has other features too, but i forgot them.  all you need to know is, don't do it.

Yeah, don't download anything you don't need for your computer. I had that and Gator crap offered with some programs, and I just say no to Internet drugs.

If you need to be told not to download a program featured in pop-up ads then you deserve the hassles of downloading Bonzi Buddy.  That's like the internet equivalent of ordering stuff off of the TV by phone.

Did Bonzi Buddy not have some sort of uninstall?

Once it infects other files it stays there, it is built into the code. In all reality bonzi buddy is the same thing as gator, it promises not to screw your computer, but it does. God know how much time I have spent going through deleting bonzi buddy files, such a hassle for such a stupid program.

LOL the thing that makes me laugh the most is when a pop up advertises for a pop up emliminator.  Just think about that for a couple of seconds.....

"it promises not to screw your computer, but it does."

Download Bonzi Buddy!  It doesn't screw up your computer!  Really.  We mean it.  Surely we wouldn't say it unless it was true.

I think "doesn't screw up your computer" is about on par with having a diet pop's slogan as "doesn't taste like crap!"

My sister downloads and installs all that crap.  Then she wonders why her computer doesn't work.

Bonzi Buddy is just a mega fancy Spy-ware program.

Your best bet to clearing this disaster, is to go to download.com and search for a program called Ad-Aware, or just search for programs that'll detect Spy-ware.

They'll run a scan of your computer, and find all the rubbish you don't need.

I remember when Audio Galaxy was around, they MADE you install Gator. It almost killed my PC, the beast ate up over 40% of my system resources while it was sending info all over the net -_-

I actually downloaded bonzi buddy a couple years ago, and haven't really had any problems. He does get annoying when he keeps coming all the time, but i like how u can type stuff and he says it.  I did a couple prank phone calls using him. has anyone heard him sing though? its....scary...

I downloaded it when it first came out as a parrot it was good than and had some good functions but when they turned it into a gorrilla the quality went down and the ads got annoying. It basically a scam to get you money you have to buy certin attachments to make it more helpful.

To put it in a nutshell its like the advatar for Excel, etc.

And yes it comes with a uninstaller but it ends up deleteing some .dll's you need to run other programs.
Stupidity is lost on my. Then again I'm almost always lost.
