Conduit 2 Box Art Released
« on: July 29, 2010, 01:51:48 PM »

The guns look bigger, and there's more text!

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/23794

Sega released the official box art for Conduit 2 today, and it is saddled with prominent text that says it has "single, split-screen, and online combat."

Alongside the release of the box art, Sega also teased that more exciting information about the game is on the way. This could be anything from new content or a specific release date.

Conduit 2 is adding four-player split-screen cooperative and competitive multiplayer, more online features, Wii MotionPlus support, and much more when it comes out this fall.

I like that box art. I think it looks more appealing than the box art for the first game.

Hey, instead of looking like a generic 1980s Arcade title, it looks like a Halo knock-off now.  Big improvement!   :P:

Wow, Halo knock-off is right. I actually liked the colour tones of the first game's box art, but the actual picture here is much better.

That box art looks pretty badass.
Now they just need to put it in a black case and we're half way there.

Much better boxart than the first.  Can't wait to play some good ol' multiplayer splitscreen with my nephew. :)

Mmm... the tagline is good, but shows a little desperation on Sega's part--perhaps it is the best way to try and get customers to understand that this game has it all. I do like seeing it right there on the cover--online is critical for the hardcore gamer, and split screen is important to the casual Wii gamer.

The artwork sure is better, but it still needs some more spice, something that makes it seem unique to the Conduit brand.

The logo and its type face selection is poor--it screams generic and looks like it comes from a DS title--they should have built upon the logo from the last game to extend the brand.

I wasn't aware that was a good thing. As I recall, Haze created a vacuum so powerful it nearly sucked Free Radical out of existence.

What do you mean "nearly"?  Last I checked Haze bankrupted the company and they were bought by Crytek shortly thereafter.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I think you answered your own question. The company's remains are owned by Crytek now.

They're not making TimeSplitters 4 anymore, so they might as well have been sucked out of existence.

It reminds me of Doom, those games usually had the marine on the cover shooting demons. Though you can't see what they're shooting at on this cover. I won't call it a Halo knockoff because Halo itself is a generic mesh of many different shooters, including Doom.

It does seem strange they wouldn't keep the text style of the original, it was certainly better than this. They also dropped "The" for some reason.

I just hope this game sells well because the wii needs a good first person shooter game. I mean from what I have seen and heared about the game, I do not see why it can not be successful. The box art looks good and I would like to see a 3DS installment.

That's a bad thing how?

I hope Conduit 2 turns out similar to Metroid: Other M, as in the writing is so laughably bad that I don't give a **** about a serious story, I just want to see how 'young' and 'naive' the main character is.

To me the box art screams Halo reject. Also I don't understand why they have to put those bullet points on the front of the box since those are standard feature we should expect from a FPS, well except local multiplayer since a lot of developers don't include that anymore for some reason.

Really? The boxart for Conduit 1 looked like a cheesy Sega Genesis boxart from the 90's.

This boxart does make it look like a Halo knockoff, but at least now maybe it will sell gangbusters.

I can understand those bullet points considering things like local multi were missing from the first. If I were an uninformed consumer and got Conduit only to discover it did not have local multi I know I would be very leery of a sequel.

It happened to me with Burnout on Gamecube. I bought it a night I was gonna hang out with some friends. We were shopping and Fred Meyers and wanted a new game to play together that night. I got Burnout and as we were shopping for food I read the back and discovered it only had 2-player support and promptly returned it. I forget what I got instead. I never considered buying the sequels.
