Nintendo not as big as we think?
« on: April 27, 2003, 06:56:08 PM »
*Puts on hard hat, so bashing won't hurt as much*

I am just speculating, but has anyone come to think and sit down that Nintendo might be a big flop because we Nintendo fans keep raving endlessly about the things Nintendo will show at E3? We create so much hype and speculate so much, we ruin half the surprises. All we do is talk about Mario 128, New Zelda, Pokeomn RPG, more Merging, GTA titles, Kid Icarus, Online Gaming, etc. (I can go on, but I'll stop here).

When the day comes and Nintendo doesn't even scrape half of what we have speculated, mutilated, and bashed over 100 times, what will we do? Cry and whine that the show sucked? Yes, that's what we will do. Then we will eventually go on to blame Nintendo for their non-aggressive style, but has it ever crossed your minds that you are the most hardcore of console fans. We know stuff that most Gamecube owners don't.

Just an early warning: If Nintendo isn't as BIG as you think they will be. Don't whine and cry that it sucked, blame yourself for your misery. :-p

Good day, good night, and have a happy May.

Of course we anticipate Nintendo's new games eagerly.  If you have a PS2 or Xbox, is it any different?  The difference is the name and quantity of games.

Personally, I keep myself in the dark about new games as much as possible.  I rarely look at screenshots or movies, unless I have a full blown obsession going on.  But the games that I have hyped all to hell rarely dissappoint me.  I loved Super Mario Sunshine, Eternal Darkness, and Resident Evil 0, which many others did expect too much out of I think.

You know something, your right.
We DO speculate and hype things so much. I admit to this, although I don't do it as much as some others do.
But there comes a time, like E3, where we all get excited about possible games that Nintendo may show. That's when all the speculation begins. Nintendo sometimes doesn't deliver (although in times like E3, they always do), but I (perhaps even we) understand that they are simply not ready to show them. We'll see them at a later date.
Nintendo does delay their games heaps. But I'm fed up with being fed up with them. I can't afford to buy all those games if they came out at the same time, so there's no point in me complaining why they should have released them earlier.

E3 is gonna be great. Whatever they show is great.

youre right, but its human nature to speculate at times like this...

anyway nintendo may still delay games (fzero)
but theyre doing ALOT ALOT ALOT better in this degree

i mean the gamecube was only delayed once, as opposed to the n64 being delayed 3 or 4 times, and their BIG games havent been delayed... (zeldaww, metroid prime, mario sunshine, starfox adventures, animal crossing)

its time to give nintendo a break, theyre not gods although we like to think they might be

HAIL THE CUBE!

Yea, joe is right, human nature to speculate.  And Gray is right - no different for Sony and M$.

If we're going to play speculation, we can at least have fun with it.  What about the rumor last year about 3D displays?

Anyway, I'm thinking no online, previews of some big titles - Too Human, Metroid 2, Mario 2, Zelda 2 - a few surprises, LAN gaming, and some more 3rd party titles.

If they merged with someone, that would be super keen.

i think nintendo is only not cool because the people who play nintendo are not cool...we spend all our time either playing nintendo or speculating in nintendo forums...maybe if we got out then we would be cool and so would nintendo....bah...

You know what?  It's threads like this that we really show our fanboy roots.    Nintendo fanboys are usually a little more refined than Sony or MS fanboys because we have been around longer, but it's sort of good to know that we can still talk like fanboys with the best of them.

"alot" is not a word, never has been a word, and never will be a word.

Just thought maybe you guys could actually learn something from these forums for once.

In case you are wondering still, it's ALWAYS "a lot".
