Just listen to this.  It was linked from Destructoid today, a medley of music from across gaming history all composited in Mario Paint: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbO1YtoUqM8&feature=player_embedded.

Seriously, I'm in awe of the sheer amount of time and effort it took to produce something like that, and I've heard plenty of awesome remixes of newer songs using that Mario Paint composer program as well (particularly Mario Galaxy).  Exactly why haven't we seen a proper sequel to Mario Paint since the SNES, especially on the Wii?  You'd think it would tie in extremely well with Nintendo's strategy of reaching out to the casual market.

WarioWare DIY includes a pretty powerful music editor.
Just some random guy on the internet who has a different opinion of games than you.

WarioWare DIY is essentially the new Mario Paint... besides using some of the same interface items, it's actually a very indirect sequel since WarioWare was originally based on a part of the Mario Artist series.

its funny how Nintendo created an unreleased series of games, and took those ideas and put them in several different games.
