Sorry, I had meant to get caught up tonight, but I'm literally having the worst day I've had in years: a broken PS3 that now has to go in for repairs, a $500 security deposit check that seems lost in the mail, and my car broke down tonight...stranding me in a Best Buy parking lot for 3 1/2 hours (+$150 Towing payment) while my parents took turns yelling at me over the phone for even going to that store.  Sometime in the next few days, I'll do a matinee where I catch up on these movies...but it won't be tonight.

For what it's worth, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure is a great comedy that truly understands that it is a stupid movie and just runs with it.  There are too many great lines and scenes to mention, but probably one I'd like to highlight comes at the end.  Let's just say it involves a set of keys, and it's quite possibly the most hilarious way of dealing with a time paradox I've ever seen.

So now they've kidnapped Napoleon and Billy the Kid which means they are no longer in their own time period to be the historical figure that they are known for.
They are now in ancient Greece for what I will assume is to kidnap Caesar.

Let's see how this paradox is handled.

I don't know how they are fitting so many people into that little ass phone booth. 4 turns into 5 and then they just speed jump throught hte next few locations and now 5 becomes 7 or 8.

now I see they are using the phone booth a a time canoe....

For being a piece of futuristic tech, it sure is low tech considering in the year 2010 you can't even find a phone booth. I believe the phone booth was from the year 2600 something. A wire antennae that looks like an old umbrella that got it's cloth ripped off....

I expect more out of the distant future.

There is a phone booth down the street from where I live but its glass is shattered. The phone is ripped from the cord and the entire thing is covered in graffiti. Oh, did I forget to mention that weeds are growing up through the bottom? What would be funny is if the phone was still there and it actually worked.

I so surprised that they had so much presentation with ZERO preparation and got 100% cooperation with NO retaliation with flawed but understood translation from charaded interpretation and all the props, lights and music which prompted audience participation, and on top of  all of that, Ted came to a realization from a free psych evaluation and all made possible by a phone booth that allowed them to take a time traveling vacation.

Hey, I actually watched this week's movie!

Jonny Depp is horribly mangled BY A BED. This is the greatest movie of all time because of that.

I'll also say that this was a pretty awesome premise that has sadly lost its luster after two decades of awful sequels.

Man, the iconic Elm Street music is still creepy to this day. If you could combine it with the "chi chi chi chi wah wah wah wah" from the Jason moves, you would have the creepiest background music of all time.

I've heard of people on acid trips thinking the walls were breathing, but this girl is having one helluva nightmare if the walls are doing this


I hate to do this (not really :P: : : ) but it's movie stereotype time.

Just like if there is a black man in the movie, he is usually first to die, there is always atleast 1 stupid white girl in every horror movie.

1. She knows she is having nightmares and is emotionally disturbed.
2. She wakes up from one of these nightmares and her gown is ripped
3. She is in bed with her boyfriend and someone is throwing rocks at her parents bedroom window(where she was sleeping with her bf).
4. This person is now whispering her name
5. Instead of waking up her boyfriend to help her deal with who or whatever it may be(or possibly cal the cops), she instead does this....

goes outside alone in the middle of night in a button up shirt with no shoes.


then she wanders all the way to the back of the property and in the back alley where the trash men pick up the garbage.
"Whos out there!? I'm out here all alone barefoot and barely dressed....please don't be someone scary who might want to kill me!!"

Now some of you may think you would react differently than the boyfriend in this next scenario, but if you got woken up in the middle of the night by some scick screaming her lungs off underneath the sheets and in between your legs, would you not immediately jump out of the bed and try to figure out whats going on before cautiously pulling the covers back to see what the hell she is doing?


and then to watch her shirt magically ripped open and holes open up in her chest right before she starts floating up to the ceiling....


I would think i was having a bad dream. Then I would never go to sleep again.
Not so sure I would've fled the scene with out alteast telling the other people in the house what the hell just happened first though.

This is far and away my favorite horror movie, and potentially one of my favorite movies. The effects still hold up (except the head-biting sequence toward the end), and the subdued soundtrack really ups the feeling of suspense and isolation.

Where'd you read about the prequel? I have the PS2 game, and from what I read on Wikipedia awhile back that John Carpenter considers it an official sequel. I imagine the prequel will explore what happened to the Swedes.
