Walmarts is for anything they sell online (if I remember correctly), but it would be nice if they sent me an actual $20 GC to go use in the store.

You remembered correctly, I looked it up after UncleBob mentioned them. You get a $20 Walmart eCard, good for anything on their website (although I guess you can buy it online and have it shipped to a local store, although I know that is not the same).

Best Buy frequently has these deals where you can get 500 Reward Zone points (the equivalent of a $10 gift card) for pre-ordering or buying certain games, nothing for Super Mario Galaxy 2 though.

As to your overall question, 40% off is totally worth it,
Technically the game isn't 40% off, as the $20 must be applied to a future purchase.

True, but in light of the upcoming release schedule for just the Wii, I'm confident that $20 credit will find itself a good home soon!

Dealing with credits is a pain. Gamefly ftw (whenever possible of course). I don't like owning very many games. Play, beat, move on...

Yeah, the credit should be good on anything in the general "Video Games" category.

If you search for 'videogames' and something comes up I'm pretty sure you can spend the credit on it at Amazon.

That's what I did--got me the second Professor Layton game for $5.  ;D
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!
