Am I the only person that's going through it chronologically instead of one mode at a time?

Not that the story is riveting, but I'm finding it very enjoyable to bounce between each specialty.

Honestly, I regret that I didn't do it that way.  The game would've been a better experience had I spread out the Diagnostics and Forensics missions intermittently, rather than tackle them all at once, since they move much slower than the standard Trauma Center fare.

That's how I'm playing it, although it's strange at first trying to sort out exactly how the chronology goes.

Agreed. Totally worth it, though.

I got it today. Planning to go through the game chronologically. Sounds like the best.

I like the chronological approach because it gives you some variety in the specialties, otherwise I think you could burn out on the long cases, like forensics.

But, let's be fair, forensics gets much better as it goes on.  Diagnostics was great all the way through, but, IMO, the easiest one to burn-out on.

I'm enjoying Diagnostics the most, currently, but that's because I love using all the images and listening with the stethoscope and all of that type of thing.  I get less frustrated with Diagnostics then I can get with Forensics.  I find Forensics to be a bit illogical and picky sometimes where I'm ahead of things in my mind and then have to take time to send half of everything to Little Guy to analyze and combine all the cards and so forth.  I like the way they did Forensics, absolutely, but I do get frustrated with it.  I also get frustrated when I bump into things in endoscopy when I think I'm nowhere near them.

How do you figure out the chronology? I'm rather unsure what to choose first.

The timelines down the side of each character, find the first one and then go right.   So it should be Tamoe (Endoscopy) then Freebird (Orthopedics) then Cunningham (Diagnostics) and then you should be down to the next level along the sides.  The timeline starts with Surgery, but that first case doesn't show up for a while.  Does that even make sense?  It's a weird layout, it's true.

I think I understand. Move right doing missions that appear then go down a level and work from left to right again. Lather, rinse, repeat. Yes?

You got it.  I'm a little off myself because I was just going in numerical order at first. Surgery #1 First Response #1 Endoscopy #1, so on and so forth.  Then I rather cottoned on and understood how to go in order, but my timeline is still a little wonky currently cause I'm ahead in a few areas.  It's alright though, the storyline is still disjointed because I'm only halfway, so I don't think I'm too far off.

I'll probably play it chronologically, just to mix the modes up. Gotta have variety.

But I might not be getting it for another month or two. I forgot that Tetris Party Deluxe comes out on June 1st, and that's going to be my next game. So perhaps after that, although I'm not really a fan of New Blood, so I might not pick this game up until I find it on sale.

Pretty fun so far. Some parts seemed to be trickier than they should be.

LOL at the superhero parts.

The only thing that has bothered me is the need to push the 'Mote to make the endoscopy tube move. It gets tiring after a while and I prefer to play games often on my side so I have to reposition myself to move it forward. Thank goodness you can press down on the d-pad to go back.

I've almost beaten it, and I've got to say that I really enjoyed it.  I dreaded doing CT scans (can you find the blue or white blob in this sea of white and blue blobs?), but other than that I have to give it to Atlus for making an all around entertaining game.  I even enjoyed endoscopy, even if it was my least favorite specialty.

The story made me roll my eyes several times though, although I only wanted to vomit when Tomoe was around.

Tomoe has been the least interesting story line so far for me as well.

I got a pretty good kick out of the super hero parts. It made me lol because I think he looks like Captain Falcon.

I heart Freebird.  Orthopedics was my favorite specialty too.

The scans you had to compare would have felt a lot easier if, when you switch from the image to the sample image, there was no loading delay.  Then you'd be able to spot the difference a lot easier, because your eye would catch the changes.

In my review, I said Orthopedics felt kind of like a single-player super version of Operation.  It was definitely my favorite.

I'm disappointed to find out that the two-player co-op wasn't implemented very well, and isn't available in all modes. This game just got moved to my bargain list.

I'm sure it won't take long to move to the the bargain BIN. At which point, I'll pick it up.

I'm still waiting for Red Steel 2 and Maramusa to make similar downward journeys.

I'm looking for it to drop in price, but it's an Atlus game so I don't expect it any time soon.

So I just finished the game, and I have a spoiler-question.

Do we ever learn what happened to Joshua?  We have the dramatic breakdown, the "I won't give up!" speech, and then...nothing.  The kid ceases to exist and is never seen or heard from again.  Shoot, his father retires from medicine...

Also, there were plenty of big plot holes in the game, but it was definitely fun to play through.

I don't know if I'd always call the plot-holes.  I described the game as "Inconsistent."  At times it's a bit too scatterbrained and all over the place to be as cohesive as one would expect in story.
