They could at least wait until Wind Waker is out in Australia before they announce a new Zelda game. ARG! Me want Wind Waker now!!

Maybe it's a Zelda spin-off of sorts - a Zelda game with vastly different gameplay that's not really part of the main series (like a 2D Castlevania style game or something)

This sucks ass.  I was so hoping for the next Zelda to use the same engine as Wind Waker.
Once I had, a little game
I liked to crawl back into my brain
I think you know the game I mean

I bet there's some guy at NP wondering, "Oh that's funny.  I didn't think people would come to that kind of conclusion."

What about SSB3?? SSB:Melee is player's choice now, they've got good sales from it, maybe Hal is working on SSB3.

Its deja vu all over again. A series of big announcements preceding E3 are being made just as was the case last year (which were the Square, Triforce, Sega/F-Zero and Namco/Star Fox announcements if anyone still recalls). Perhaps the biggest one we've had to date is the confirmation of a new Metal Gear title for the Gamecube. Than just recently Rogue Squadron III and Mario Kart were revealed to us for the very first time. Theres no doubt more are to come. Ah, I love this time of year so many juicy news bits to salivate over.

"Maybe it's a Zelda spin-off of sorts - a Zelda game with vastly different gameplay that's not really part of the main series"

It would be really cool if it was a Legend of Zelda RPG made by Square Enix.  Kind of like Super Mario RPG but with Zelda characters.  I'm not realistically expecting that but it would be REALLY cool and would allow a Zelda game to be released between Wind Waker and the next "real" Zelda game.

Of course it's possible that this E3 stuff in next month's issue has nothing to do with Zelda and they just used a silhouette of a familiar character to generate interest.  In this context Link might just be used as a graphical way to represent Nintendo's E3.  Plus even though NP has mentioned Soul Calibur II before it doesn't mean that they won't show it off here.  This seems to just be an E3 article and that doesn't mean that everything shown will be top secret.  Soul Calibur II likely will be shown off at Nintendo's booth and therefore would be part of the article along with some secret stuff.

Why would it refer to SCII anyways? Its no big secret that Link is playable. I mean the game is already out in japan and Nintendo doesnt usually show "secret" things to the US when we know they are out overseas, thats dumb. Its got to be a new GC or GBA game. Maybe something about the demo from e3 '01? A game with those type of graphics, of course better this time around. Maybe even something for Nintendos next system though i doubt that.

I'm just pointing out that the shadow Link is from Soul Calibur. Of course the announcement that is suppose to be revealed isn't Soul Calibur.

It can't be a GC no matter how much you guys want it to be....WW came out like a month and a half ago and like two weeks (i think?) in Europe and hasn't shipped to Austrailia....SO DROP THE CONCEPT YOUR GOING TO SPECULATE YOURSELF TO DEATH!

Like some people have been saying, it is either a GBA game or a game that has Link but has nothing to do with the LEGEND OF ZELDA.

For instance, Super Smash Bros. 3 or Link in MarioKart or something like that.

I would like a new SSB than another Legend of Zelda strickly for one reason......LAN MULTIPLAYERERERUERUIAYREUIR!!!

I PMED HIM

YEAH im surprised to that they didn't Update it today but he also said in the post if the approval gods were willing which prolly means the Big Wigs are making them wait

here is what he said

"BTW, bookmark the e3 page and visit it again and again-- currently the site is just a preview. We'll be doing tons of updates on the way to e3. The games that are there are only a small taste of what's in store. We expect to have a big update on Thursday as well as a cool announcement on Monday (approval gods willing)."
